Succession 3x7 - Too Much Birthday

Kendall’s birthday ep... all the brothers are gathered at the entrance when we finally see Connor for the first time. And there he is… with his injured arm 😭 (Shiv’s face when she looks at his arm lol)

Still in the lobby, one of the party staff tells everyone to hang up their coats and hand over their phones ‘cause Kendall “would like his present to be everyone being present.” lol

Shiv and Roman totally ignore the girl asking for their phones, but she ends up asking about Connor’s coat.

Then Connor (with Willa) explains to Roman what happened.

Of course Roman takes the chance to make a joke... I swear, I love that man.

I love that they could’ve come up with any excuse for Connor’s injury — since it was kinda improvised ’cause Alan Ruck had to wear that arm thing on doctor’s orders irl — but they still managed to sneak in a scene with Connor and Maxim Pierce!!!

The Brokeback Mountain cowboys… if so😭

Not that it matters, but the Conwillas reaction when Roman says he’s going inside his mom’s vagina????

Kendall noticing Connor’s arm and getting all concerned :(((

But then…

There's a real quick moment (I couldn't even get a decent screenshot), but Connor calls Willa "Will" and Naomi "Nay", idk, I just think Connor’s nicknames for people are really cute 🥺.

Then Kendall takes the brothers to that weird little room with the newspaper clippings (?? idk what to call it lol)

Connor’s delusions of grandeur always crack me up, but they’re also kind of heartbreaking... especially when they show up during fights with his brothers :(

That one hurt. And the worst part? I can’t even be mad at Roman or Kendall for joking... but Logan, who’s not even in the scene?

Kendall spirals after fighting with Rava and then he asks Comfrey to ask Connor to take off his coat once more and this time Willa gets really angry.

WILLA DEFENDING HIM!!!! (the proud little smile he gives after that… I love them sm)

At the end of the episode, Connor just randomly show up to be the dad of the group again 😭 (this is when Roman pushes Kendall, knocking him down)

Ugh this scene makes me sad blah blah

Sometimes I think about how helpless Connor must feel seeing his two younger brothers grown up but still stuck in these childish fights. I imagine him actually trying to help them when they were kids — like he says in this ep, taking them to camp ‘cause Logan couldn’t care less. But now they’re adults, all messed up from Logan’s crap, and Connor can’t really fix it anymore. Idk, that hits me hard.

Anyway! Yayyy, great, let’s end this post on a super sad note lol.

Succession 4x8 - America Decides

It’s finally election day!! Connor calls Tom to say the ATN camera crew’s already with him, but he’s annoyed that none of the footage is actually showing up on ATN’s election coverage. He says he’s used to being ignored by people, but not by the ones who are supposed to be on his side (!!!).

Earlier, Roman meets up with Mencken and his team, and Mencken basically blames him for possibly screwing things up by not getting Connor to drop out.

After the call with Tom, Willa and Maxin try to lift Connor’s spirits.

But yeah, Maxin’s optimism dies fast when Connor loses Kentucky to Mencken, lol.

Willa sticks with Connor the whole time, being super supportive.

Later, Connor calls Roman again.

Roman jokes it’s a wild night for Mencken.

He also says the “deal” was yesterday’s news, and kinda implies that if Mencken loses, Connor’s partially to blame.

The way Connor talks about a literal coup with a smirk on his face…

And Connor keeps up with the rhyming (seriously, how does this goofball think he can be president? he’s just a baby in a suit).

Not gonna lie, I really wish he had come up with a rhyme for Brazil lol.

Roman wraps the call saying he’ll see what he can negotiate with Mencken’s team.

Later, Connor and Willa pop up on ATN.

lol I love them. Also, my beloved TomCon never gets the love it deserves 😔

Roman actually finds Connor’s idea interesting and reaches out to Mencken’s people.

And this is where it starts getting bittersweet for me 🕊️

Idk… I just didn’t love that Connor gave up. Like, yeah, he was obviously never gonna win, but it’s more the giving up that bums me out.

Connor gives a whole speech on TV, but here are my fave bits:

My reaction to the whole thing was pretty much Willa’s, lmao.

Anyway, this officially marks the beginning of the end for Connor’s story on the show. The biggest Connor arc is finally wrapped. In my heart, though, Connor Roy will always be the president-elect of the Succession-verse.

Succession 2x5 - Tern Haven

In this episode the Roy family goes to Tern Haven while Logan tries to complete the acquisition of PGM.

The family, except Willa who is sorting out things about her play… so Roman asks about her in the most Roman way possible. and the way Connor's smile falters afterwards :(

Connor finally asking the question I've been trying to understand for the last two episodes.

These two, idk.

Well, let my man dream big.

Connor always has a drink in his hand.

Him and Shiv complaining in the background. I love this little sister and big brother duo so much, I will always say that.

So then Connor gets mad and Kendall has to calm him down, and we have this big brother moment. (Kendall patting Connor's shoulder :(((

And of course the family starts arguing over dinner, and Connor gets all caught up in the gossip.

Connor's reaction to finding out that Shiv and Logan were talking about her being the successor is so sad…

(but still he looks gorgeous, like..)

The next day the whole family was morally hungover and not even Connor escaped.

But in his case the hangover was not just moral…

(btw, this scene of Frank talking to Con made me feel strange seeing Frank talking so calmly to Connor. It seems like I'm used to seeing everyone being sarcastic, rude or ignorant with him. Frank has earned some points with me here)

Mind you, this is the man he was complaining about...

Back at the Roy palace and while something was happening in the foreground, Connor and Gerri were talking in the background and I really wanted to be a fly to know what these two were talking about. They seem so friendly here.
