Why is every painting of Robespierre lying on the table after he shot himself basically just this meme:

The French Revolution just sort of fizzled out and collapsed in on itself like a wet cake.

A wet cake made of tyranny and cardboard.

Which swiftly turned into a radioactive toilet fire and allowed legions of bitter royalists to bitch up a storm and say “WE TOLD YOU SOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!”.

An unusual analogy, sure. But my point remains.

And no, I’m not a royalist.

I just don’t think it should be upheld and venerated as a successful affair due to the shitshow which followed!

At least not in the short term.
