Album Number Seventy-Nine (Ahhh, no 1971’s Rough and Ready) “Jeff Beck Group” is the fourth and final studio album by the #thejeffbeckgroup and the second album with the line up of #jeffbeck #bobbytench #CliveChaman, #maxmiddleton and #cozypowell . The album was produced by #stevecropper and often referred to as the Orange Album, because of the orange which appears prominently at the top of the front cover. My copy is on #epicrecords - PE 31331. During January 1972 the second Jeff Beck Group flew to the US and joined Beck at TMI Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Some of the songs they worked on were already in their stage act and unlike #roughandready (1971) they also recorded five cover songs for this album, including a new version of Ashford & Simpson's "I Can't Give Back the Love I Feel for You" and Carl Perkins's Sun Records release, "Glad All Over" (1957). #rockandroll #theseventies https://www.instagram.com/p/CRWjH6Vrddc/?utm_medium=tumblr

#roughandready #thejeffbeckgroup #cozypowell #bobbytench #cozypowell #maxmiddleton #clivechaman this #epicrecords release is one of my fave- I believe this is when Jeff really embraced the fender Stratocaster and on this record / it’s everyone playing lead at the same time - you have to admire that in 1971 Jeff would have a great mixed band - this soulful album is beautiful, with some of the best players around - check out Cozy Powell - what a Monster Player check out #newwaystraintrain the break in the middle is someone showing chops from some other planet.
