Turmeric Or Not Turmeric Recipe
-5 cups/ 1125 ml - original coconut milk
-1/2 tsp/ 2 ml - Ground Turmeric
-1/2 tsp/ 2 ml - Ground Cinnamon
-1/2 tsp/ 2 ml - Ground Cloves
-1/2 tbsp/ 7.5 ml - fresh sliced Ginger
-2 tbsp/ 30 ml - Orange Blossom Honey
-2 tbsp/ 30 ml - Bourbon barrel aged Maple Syrup
3. Combine all ingredients into the sauce pan
4. stir heartily to ensure equal distribution of ingredients
5. Bring to a simmer on medium-low heat
6. Once fragrant allow to simmer an additional 5 - 10 minutes
7. Allow to cool slightly
8. strain the ginger and any potential spice clumps out into the glass measuring cup
8. pour from measuring cup into mugs
NOTES:
- More Turmeric is totally an option that would taste fine, and if you’re feeling spicy some cayenne is an option. (careful with cayenne though...)
- Sweeteners are really what ever makes you happy, though liquid sweeteners are probably best. (This is also the case for milk, but fattier dairy milks will cool to have a film on top so drink fast or avoid those)
- You can also substitute whole cinnamon and whole cloves to create a more golden color
- Our snack was plated with mixed root vegetable chips and candied ginger (gingersnaps would also be good)
