WEAK HERO x THE INTERNET
Since it didn’t post the first time
Laila strummed her fingers against the steering wheel; she had been unlucky at every turn, catching every red light in the vicinity. Beside her, Jeremy had his vivid red earphones as he gazed absentmindedly out the window humming along to the tune.
She adjusted the rearview mirror and glanced at the three people occupying the backseat. Catalina held a half-empty coffee cup idly and smiled when she met Laila's peering gaze. On the opposite side of the car, Jean laid snoring against the car window - his head occasionally thumping against it when Laila accelerated the car. In the centre of her girlfriend and Jean, Kevin Day in all his glory was immensely preoccupied with his phone.
On a regular Saturday afternoon, Laila returned home from grocery shopping with Jean based on Catalina's request to purchase more vegetables for dinner. They were both equally startled when they saw Kevin and Jeremy replaying an Exy match with equal enthusiasm painting over their expressions. Jean and Kevin shared one look before Jean stalked to his room and slammed the door shut.
This left a very disgruntled Jeremy attempting to reason with Jean; Jean had not spoken a word to Kevin or Jeremy thereafter - it had already been 2 days.
The sound of Jean's head thumping came to a halt, and Laila peeped at him through the mirror once again. Kevin placed his hand on top of the window, shielding Jean's head from potential brain damage. He said something in low French, to which Jean groaned out an annoyed huff. Laila was under the misconception that this interaction was over, and as curt as the previous ones, they shared prior.
Without tearing his gaze from his phone, Kevin nudged Jean's head with his hand and placed it on his shoulder. Jean moved his head and squirmed until it was directly below Kevin's jaw. He sighed out contently and nosed Kevin's neck while Kevin wrapped a secure arm around his waist as he typed vigorously on his phone.
Laila's eyebrow raised up at the oddly domestic spectacle, and she made eye contact with Catalina, whose jaw was dropped in mystification.
