Pilose and smooth, like the fur of a mink, is Minke’s gorgeous indie pop. We already know this from the London singer songwriter’s smoky chiffon first single Gold Angel last year, as well as her supple grooving second single, Armour, which can crack any stalwart armor you’ve built around your heart. And now, after a rather excruciating wait, Minke is back with her third single, Maybe 25, exuding much of the same charisma and sophistication we’ve fallen for from the musician. It’s a beautifully poignant ballad, a pellucid billowing and atmospheric stirring number lamenting the loss of connection in our digital age. It’s a situation that leaves us longing for something substantial or palpable, leaving us in much discontent. Of course, the pangs of loneliness and disenchantment tend to fade away when we have new Minke to comfort our hearts. Her stunning voice waxes pure and sonorous, like Hannah Reid (London Grammar) and Freya Ridings. If you misse out on Minke’s prior singles, make sure to take in the gorgeous songs on Soundcloud, here.
