Okay, I feel like I'm not into kart racing games with characters (such as Nicktoons Racing), but I feel like I had to bring up what irks me in that game.
What really irks me about Nicktoons Racing is while most of the Nickelodeon characters were added (such as SpongeBob, Ickis, CatDog, Stimpy, and so on), the developers probably forgot to add a Nicktoon character that would appear in its sequels later: And it's none other than Rocko himself.
Yeah, there's no Rocko in the game, alongside other characters from Rocko's Modern Life (such as Heffer or Filburt) and not even an O-Town race track. This is obviously one of the reasons why I've never played it.
They got the characters from almost all Nicktoons added, and yet they CLEARLY haven't added Rocko who's obviously my favorite. It's criminal how they probably forgot about him like if they haven't watched the show. Like they got the characters from almost all Nicktoons and yet Rocko is unfairly not in there for unknown reasons.
It wasn't until Rocko got added in Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 (with Heffer) and 3 officially.
I'll be honest, if the developers haven't added Rocko, then the modding community should do him justice (which is possible with adding a content mod).
In fact, as when content mods exist for PS1 games, Gran Turismo 2 had examples of Project A-Spec and Beige Edition and Need for Speed had High Stakes: Complete Edition.
Firstly, Rocko has to be modelled in a 3d modelling program like Blender as recommended, since I'm not an expert into 3D modelling.
If anything, Rocko should've had Nicktoons Racing as his first Nickelodeon game's appearance after Spunky's Dangerous Day (SNES game) had the developers probably would've officially added him in here.
He hasn't been in a Nickelodeon video-game until Attack of The Toybots in home-console ports (in fact, I have the PS2 version to play on my trusty PCSX2).
What could have been if Rocko was in Nicktoons Racing...
Some people are ridiculous about the control they have over members of a closed species xD
Somebody I follow was reselling some characters from a closed species (not gonna mention the name of the species or anything, I don't wanna cause any problems) and... The original creator wanted you to fill out and sign an TOS form to own one of their characters. And wait for them to accept said TOS to send the character to the new owner if it was sold. So, curious, I looked at the TOS expecting just basic stuff. But... No. They wanted to control everything about the character. Things like modifying ears or the tail (Like if they lost their tail, or an ear got nicked or cut off) requiring payment and art being made to be official. This makes some sense in an ARPG setting but this wasn't an ARPG. They even wanted to control what you did with said character in RP. If you RPed your character and in said RP, they ended up with a kid.... You have to pay for it even if it's just a one off thing in one RP or risk being banned from the species as a whole. ANY change, no matter how minute, required paying the creator of the species. There were limits on the lore and setting the character could be in. Fucking hell, at that point why make the species available at all if you want complete control over it?? They even want to control how much you sell the character for. Selling it for below the original price is a fucking bannable offense. Sheesh.
There's one species I absolutely want nothing to do with, even if I could afford to buy one. XD I don't want that exclusive cool-kids club bullshit. Fuuuuuck that! XD
I've been a f1 fan for 12 years and genuinely love the sport (although I'm starting to fall out of love with f1 now because of how boring it is when red bull have an illegal car and your least favourite driver is the one winning all the time...yawn), but one thing really bugs me.
Because f1 is an engineering contest rather than based on driver ability, a driver has to be in exactly the right team at exactly the right time in order to win a championship. It doesn't matter how talented a driver is; if they are not in the right team to win, they will never win. Even if a driver moves to the right team, a regulation change can still destroy their chances of ever winning a championship.
You may wonder why I even care about that, being a Lewis fan and getting to enjoy 7 years of him winning. Well, because if Lewis never went to Mercedes, he would never have won 8 championships despite having the talent to do so. Without that conversation with Niki Lauda back in 2012, Lewis would have likely stayed at McLaren and only had that one championship, and his career would be a massive 'what if?' And with the current Max domination, I now know how awful single driver or team domination is. When your favourite driver isn't winning and very well may never win another race again, it ruins the sport for some people. Throw in your least favourite driver and team winning Every.Single.Fucking.Race. and it becomes almost unbearable.
And because I also support a young driver, I'm worried that he will never win a championship despite his immense talent. Yes, Charles is a bit inconsistent and crashes when he shouldn't, but that can be worked on. Apart from that, he is undeniably championship material. But there is a good chance he may never win a championship because he is in the wrong team, and the absolute earliest that anyone will be challenging Max is 2026. By then, Charles will be 28 and pretty much halfway into his career. And even then, he needs to be in the dominant team of 2026 to have a chance. And if he isn't in exactly the best team by then, it will become increasingly harder for him to win despite his talent. The issue with f1 is that it's all about being in the single best and dominant team. If you aren't in exactly the right team, then that's it, no championship for you. Just ask Daniel Ricciardo. OK, he did terribly at McLaren, and his career didn't end well. But at one point, he was genuinely good enough to win a championship. But he never had even a chance of winning because of how F1 works.
The fans love to be elitist and say how F1 is the absolute best motorsport and that any other motorsport is shit in comparison. Some of you love to dig on Formula E despite the racing being much better than F1 and there being so many different winners and close title fights every season. Let's face it, a spec series is both more fun and more fair for the drivers than an engineering contest.
With the way that f1 is run, it is highly plausible that none of the current grid will win championships if they haven't done so already. Which would be a massive shame, especially with drivers like Charles on the grid. And I may not be his biggest fan, but George Russell is 100 percent championship material too, and he deserves to at least be in a title fight.
Does F1 really have to be an engineering contest anymore? Just some food for thought. Otherwise, there is a risk of a lot of talents being wasted and clearly, the cost cap has done fuck all for making title fights closer. Because at the end of the day, who really cares about the midfield battles more than the title fight itself?
I've seen people recently mention that like 99% of safe/soft vore is pure fluff. And yeah, I'd have to agree. I'm... certainly not helping that statistic, not that anything's wrong with fluff. I'd just do agree with the sentiment that there's very little diversity in those kinds of tales.
So I've been slowly but surely planning a more angsty and in depth project for a while now, it's just that doing stuff like that is hard. Really hard when executive function decides to give up on you. Even harder when life's a bitch to deal with while I'm trying to write it. And I'm not very experienced in writing stuff like it. It's got show stopping issues that need solving. But I've got hope. I've got a good idea, it just needs a lot of work.
I don't know what this is. I don't know what my point was. Or if it had a point. Just had words to say I guess.
on this blog we love and stan Ellie in her quest for vengeance.
The narrative “revenge bad” really doesn’t apply to the post-apocalyptic world, wherein we are not here for petty revenge if it means we need to eliminate a potential threat to our people.
also-also, Abby is a whole bully. The game-play of her was fair and all, to try and appeal her as a totally human character with backstory and friends, and an entire support system. But Mel was right. Abs is an asshole.
I think what came across hardest in the Abby segments, when you see where she comes from and her pre-history, is that we don’t have a character that can be fully sympathized with. The game devs really tried, I think, to make her endearing as a person and not some rando antagonist, with depth and character. To see from her perspective, of how things are. And I don’t dislike her for just killing Joel, it’s her whole entire attitude and motivation behind it, AND hauling company along and doing what it takes to reach her - HER - end goals.
Abby is fully incorporated into this WLF militia district, who kind of go out and kill the Seraphites whenever the two factions cross paths. These two are in conflict, and Abby has no qualms about torturing and killing these “of the land” people. And Abby has a higher-than-thou attitude about her purpose in life, and justification for hunting down and murdering Joel. She totally believes that her people are the good guys, and everyone else is the villain.
No, Joel was not a saint himself. But we’ll refer to the post-apocalyptic scenario, where the main focus is survival. There are scarce resources, and people become infected by fungal funtimes means you have to murder friends before they turn and pose a danger to the whole party. All while you deal with people who are struggling for the same resources, willing to kill to survive, we also have savage McGee having a damn holiday about crumbling social order. Moral jives be damned.
Joel didn’t torture and kill Abby’s papa, while she watched. His purpose in the hospital was extract Ellie, and in that moment, with time so precious, with emotions all over the place, threatened at gunpoint, and given what happened to Sarah, Joel was not prepared to be robbed of saving someones life. The experience in of itself was triggering for him, I reckon.
I’ve said it before a long while back, but I roll with Joel’s decision. Ellie’s immunity was supposed to “Save humanity”, but there wasn’t much left to save. Ellie suffers survivors guilt, and constantly falls back to “My death would’ve meant something.” But how we die isn’t nearly as important, as how we lived, and those we encountered along the way. It will always be more important to to live, than to be gone.
I have this feel that at some point while they were rekindling their relationship, between them, Joel would’ve pointed out that Ellie’s life has meant more than her hypothetical death. That her inclusion into all these peoples lives, is worth mountains more than what might’ve been,
So Abby. She crosses the countryside to enact revenge on a man, who was protecting his surrogate daughter. She held onto that hate and resentment for all this time, and was willing to maim people in order to locate where Joel was. Worst of all, she bullied her colleagues and friends to join her on this vengefest. Because Joel “destroyed humanities last hope.” The only reason Abby didn’t go on a murder/torture quest, like Ellie did, was due to the fact Joel and Tommy intercepted her on patrol and escorted her back to WLF temp base - after saving Abby from infected. They then offered to bring the group by Jackson, for supplies, and shelter.
And in response, Abby’s lot tortured and murdered Joel. Right in front of Ellie.
Then when Seraphite’s Yara and Lev help Abby, after these two factions have been fighting for years. Abby turns around and helps “these kids”.
Mel was right. Abby is an asshole. All her friends died, trying to “protect her” from this scrawny girl from the small wood town. A small neighborly community, who lost a vital and important member of their community.
What rubbed me the wrong way with Abby though, is that she comes across as the law, or justice - the one who was in the right, and that’s that. Sure, Ellie killed all her friends, but Abby was willing to do the same to Jacksonites. And has done the same to Seraphite prisoners. And Ellie was acting out in self-defense in each encounter, no debate on that. Ellie absolutely had tunnel vision for Abby, and for some reason the idea of ratting out their friend - to this scrawny girl - just didn’t feel right.
But fuck, Abby was a toxic person. She’s this military buff going out to murder lone country folk. She would’ve done to Jackson, what WLF did to the Seraphite village. All to find Joel.
It was important for Ellie to witness Abby at the end of Santa Barbra, broken and in shambles after a false lead. With no people or her own anymore, aside from Lev. No one to come rescue her, no one waiting for them. No one.
To see that Abby did lose everything, and had nothing to go back to.
True, Ellie did a lot of damage to Abby, arguably a lot more than she suffered with Joel’s death. But Ellie went through so much with Joel, saved him and nursed him back to health, and was caught by cannibals - nearly hacked to bits. All to save Joel. Ellie had so much she needed to do with Joel, so much to forgive and grow through in a healthy and meaningful way. But Abby robbed that from them.
Ellie just tearing loose, going after Abby was justified. Ellie grew with Joel as a survivor, and has a lot of suppressed trauma that was unlatched through Abby’s malice. And most important of all.
Ellie constantly told her friends, they didn’t have to come. She had to force Dina to stay behind, while she went out. That’s an important contrast between the Ellie and Abby dynamic.
Abby ridiculed and harassed people around her, on this quest for revenge. Ellie just wanted to find Abby, kill that bitch, and call it good.
That’s my vibe.
Last thing, the whole, “We let you live, and you wasted it!” Just pissed me off. Like it was some sort of honor that the mighty oxen-Ab didn’t murder them after Joel dad saved her.
Abby wanted this, and she got everything she needed from it.
Oo sure i can be the 🐽 anon if that'll help! (Also if someone else hasn't picked it) Though still have a lovely day and make sure to take care of yourselffFf 🐽
Omg I LOVE IT. I love piglets soooo much 🥺 the reason behind it is kinda special too. Also, you might have accidentally made a little space in my heart by using that 🥺💞
Also, it's time for the unnecessary story time cuz why not, even though no one asked me. There was this guy I met on a game named Royal Chaos, I played around this time last year. But I had to leave the game for some reason, and the guy told me to always remember him and search up about piglets whenever I missed him.
This was such an weird coincidence for you to use that emoji. Now I miss him so fucking much aaaaahhh I actually miss him badly and I might cry, cuz idk how he is now. I wonder if he misses me tho ;-; probs not ;;-;;
