Dean doesn’t pray to God, but he’ll pray to Cas
To Dean, Cas is better than any uncaring God he’s never seen
He trusts Cas to take care of his little brother
He’s never put that trust in anyone but himself before Cas, and even sometimes his trust in himself wavered like it never did with Cas
But Cas is better, holier, closer than any God Dean has ever heard of or met
It’s the concreteness of going through hell, or purgatory, together and coming out the other side still undying loyal
Because an angel is nothing if not loyal to its God
