I love when Cas is a mean bastard in fics, picking up on everything stupid Dean does, and Dean being like "you- ok fine i deserved that." Sadly, it's not really their canon dynamic, because although Castiel is a mean bastard ("you had an entire oak tree shoved up your ass" to an archangel. "You will die alone, unmourned" to another archangel), he's really never mean to Dean. It's mostly just Dean saying stupid shit and Cas rolling his eyes, probably thinking something along the lines of "am i really, really that easy? I threw it all away for this? Nazarene. Why." And Dean on the other hand thinking: "that was a good one, Winchester. A good one."

Dean sacrifices his life without hesitation because he finds meaning or a purpose to it by doing something for others. He cannot simply comprehend the idea of a life that’s lived for oneself. His perception of others defines by this. The more you sacrifice, the more you are worthy in his eyes. He does it because he genuinely wants to. Not only it’s sad but it’s idiotic.

Cas sacrifices his life not because he wants to but because he thinks that that’s how it is to be somewhat closer to human. As it was revealed in his confession too, he learned humanity from Dean and that’s what Dean does. This is why they failed the ONE universe they had even the slightest chance.

This but it means like, Dean could’ve ignored his sexuality if it wasn’t for Cas. Dean could’ve stayed in hell like he deserved if Cas hadn’t pulled him out. Dean wouldn’t have had to experience losing the love of his life time and time again if Cas just hadn’t come along.

The thing *is* destiel is canon enough that if they reciprocate in a revival, it would make complete sense. They could do a montage flashback of their scenes right before a climactic kiss - nothing new, just scenes that already exist - and it would fit and it would work because they're. In. Love.

[Insert all the times they've eye-fucked, all the times Dean was on his knees for Cas, all the little declarations, all the glances, touches, and moments they shared. The mixtape, the food-stealing, Dean crying out for Cas over and over, deans loss of faith when Cas dies, it goes on and on]

Castiel is careful about touching Dean at first. Hardly putting pressure where his fingers glided across his neck, chest, over his ribs, counting each precious one.

It's almost like he's not touching Dean at all. Still fearful, Dean will tell him to stop or pull away.

He's so damn careful with the man he loves until Dean keens, head thrown back, jaw hanging open begging for, "More, Cas, please. More."

Once he's begging, it's all changes. Every barely there whisper of skin is replaced with a frenzied hunger.
