I’ll stick to family related headcanons so as not to go off the rails
2D is the spitting image of his dad, who is also built tall and lanky. His mom is the exact opposite— like a little teapot.
I think 2D was always close with his dad, who inspired his love of keyboards and electronics. I imagine his dad is similar in temperament: easy-going, unbothered by naysayers (or perhaps doesn’t pick up on sarcasm). They both like their solitude and focusing on their projects, but 2D is far more social.
I think he’s also a big mama’s boy, and she fusses over him to the point of helicoptering. She tried to shelter him from everything and fix any instance of pain no matter how small, thus providing him with as many painkillers as he needed/wanted. She was the kind of mom to freak out if he fell before he even had time to register whether or not he was hurt.
As much as 2D is accustomed to being taken care of, it got to be overbearing as he got older, especially once he met Murdoc and wanted to start up a band with him. I think it would’ve driven a wedge between them until the band started picking up traction. Even then, his parents constantly worried about him and wanted him to come home.
2D’s mom HATES Murdoc and was openly hostile every time she saw him— but after about 15 years and having to accept that he’s not going anywhere, now her attempts to drive him away have to be more covert. He knows better than to drink any cup of tea she makes him.
Conversely, she adores Russel and Noodle and is always delighted to see them.
While 2D was a pretty good kid, he was more likely to get in trouble with his mom than his dad. However, his dad was not happy with him when 2D’s man-whoring caught up to him
I think 2D still keeps in contact with his parents and visits them often, and his mom still babies him whenever she can.
