9. On OOC posts.

  I don't like when 90% of content of the rp blog is ooc posts, especially when most of them is about self-hate. Oh, and posts like "I have just shitted", I mean, a very useless information. I usually unfollow when it becomes... too much.

   The other moment about ooc posts and ooc information in general is when people don't care about their safety in the internet and they post very private stuff about their life: where they live, the names of their relatives, the street outside of their window. That info could be used against them. I am also very confused when I see rpers writing "I would like to know my partner ooc before rping them", like, why do you need it? What kind of info, besides my age and my writing level, would motivate you to write with me? Why do you want to know about me? Strange...

    Stumbling over a curb, Audrey loudly shushed herself, holding the brick she’d pried out of the sidewalk a couple blocks away from Nate’s apartment under her leather jacket. It was late, almost 3am, and she knew he’d be home…unless he was out with that floozie they’d broken up over. “We’re just friends,” she mimicked before shushing herself again. She’d been crying and was obviously drunk, but there weren’t many out on the narrow cobblestone streets of the Bunker Hill neighborhood this time in the morning. Once she found Nate’s doorstep, she pulled the brick out, drew her arm back and hurled it at the second-story window of the tidy colonial brick building, nearly knocking herself over as she did so. She grinned at the sound of shattering glass, crossing her arms as she waiting for Nate to come to the window. “Nate! You fucking asshole!” They’d been together since they were fifteen (so four entire years, and best friends before that) and this was how he was gonna treat her? “I hope that nasty little bitch gives you crabs! Is she there? Tell her to come out, I wanna talk!” Audrey did not want to talk. She wanted to break the other girl’s nose and she had enough vodka in her to actually do it. When the light turned on and it wasn’t Nate that appeared in the window, Audrey froze, her mouth falling open as her gaze drifted to the number over the entrance to the building. 435. Nate and his brother lived at 425. “Oh…Oh my god. Sir, I am…I am SO sorry. I…um. This is the wrong building. I’ll write you a check for the window, can we not call the police? My dad will kill me.” She started fumbling through her purse, looking for a pen.

           ‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ The  girl  was  not  was  he  would  have  expected   to see on looking outside,  heart beating race car fast while his arms tingled with this fight — or — flight rush that had him ready to throw hands.  If Oswald were entirely honest,  he would have expected some group of teenage boys high on hormones,  come to take out their frustrations toward the world  &  its uncertainties on the local Jewish European immigrant   (  thankfully  not  something  he’d  ever  suffered,   mind,   but  a  realistic  possibility  nonetheless ‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒   even  in  a  nice  neighborhood  like  this  one  ).

            So,  to find a panicked girl out there in tatters was almost a relief.  If this whole thing was a misunderstanding,  rather than a deliberate attack,  well.  His hissed German swearing tapered off into an emotion that was a lot closer to befuddlement than anything else,   &  he stood for a long moment just staring in abject disbelief,  lips pressed together lightly while his body tried to understand that it didn’t need to fight anybody,   &  his brain tried to understand what the hell was actually happening.

           He clicked his tongue.  Soft reset.  What an awakening this was   (  goodness  knew  he  wasn’t  about  to  get  any  more  sleep  tonight  !!  ).

            ❝ Miss,  are you quite alright ? ❞    he called down through the shattered window,  projecting his thickly  — accented voice with the practiced skill of his profession.  Might as well start there.  He was honestly not sure how to handle this.  He was still shaking,  still strung a bit high from the brief terror of expectation. 

           ❝ What’s got you throwing bricks through innocent people’s windows at this hour,  if this was an accident ?   You nearly gave me a heart attack !! ❞

       It wasn’t everyday you saw multiple old synth models lying around in a pile outside of an old gas station. Turrets scanned the area, stationary and ever watchful as they stood guard for whatever was inside. For now, they seemed passive, and would allow passage inside.

       “Who... who are you...?” There was a wounded woman huddled in the corner of the room, poking her gun from behind the counter and pointing it at the other.  It seemed the multiple turrets and sentries littered about the small building followed her example, ready to fire at any given moment. Not too far away was a human body stripped down to his underwear. Judging from the black coat the injured woman was wearing, it could be assumed that the human body wasn’t human, but a synth, and a courser, no less.

       “A-are you... Are you one’a them Institute folks? Hn? You trynna’ do me in...? I’ve told y’all once I’ve told y’all a thousand times, I ain’t goin’ with ya. Back off.” Judging from the woman’s accent, she clearly wasn’t from the Boston area.

Yes, there is one person she will always be there for: Her personal bodyguard and life partner, Matthieu Dorval, who she met and rescued from being captured in August 2077 in New York after defecting from the United States Armed Forces after the annexation of Canada.Food and energy riots had broken out on American and Canadian soil and numerous military personnel defected from both sides during the fallout of the annexation, causing defectors and rioters alike to be captured, imprisoned, and killed. With a bleeding heart, Petra helped to hide and protect numerous defectors and civilians, American and Canadian alike, into the homes and personal bunkers of anyone who would take them. Eventually, not only had Petra been caught in this act of defiance against her country, using her sisterhood as a cover, but she and many other clergymen were banished from the church and imprisoned.Matthieu, having heard about the imprisonment of Petra and the many clergymen that had helped him and so many people, rallied a massive group of ex-military personnel and civilians in NY to help free the people that had worked so hard to protect them. They were successful and managed to overrun several temporary prisons in the city to free those they believed were wrongfully accused, if only for a few months.  Come October and the Great War, the group moved quickly to seek shelter as the world around began to panic more than ever: everyone could see missiles coming and going in the distance. Running to a nearby elementary school, battling through crowds together to reach the bunker there, Petra and Matthieu managed to get inside. Sadly, they didn’t get the security door fully shut in time as missiles began to hammer into NY.To their surprise, they woke up later; ash-covered, choking, and their skin burnt beyond recognition, wondering if they made it into hell. They were the only two inside that had survived in that bunker and the horrors that awaited them outside were unimaginable. 

For over two hundred years since, Petra and Matthieu have endured the wasteland together, forever loyal to one another, as they continue fighting to help those in need.

Garrett runs his hand along the outer wall of the castle, taking no care to disguise his steps.

The earth was crunchy on the way here. Crunchy. A new world had dawned as he hibernated; a new world with new creatures, new politics, and delightfully crunchy soil. When he’d first surfaced from The Pit, he’d spent a whole half hour jumping up and down, enjoying the crackle of dried clay and rocks beneath his bare feet.

Here, there was sand. Wet sand.

To any post-apocalyptic human, he’d have stood out. A tall, skinny creature, robed in a clean hospital tunic. Garrett traverses the shore until he loops around the Castle’s side, to cower in the long shadow cast by the wall.

There are people inside. People that would likely note his presence eventually (if they didn’t already), but he’s too weak to play at misdirecting them elsewhere.

He lays down beside the wall and allows the water to lap gently at his toes, waiting for this new world to swallow him.
