i really like your era and halloween posts! actually your whole blog is the best. (im on a 1930s period radio show so i MIGHT be biased haha)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time and messaging me, it really means so so much to me! I am glad you enjoy the blog and I’m hoping to finish the Era Makeup series soon!
If you ever have a request for a special look or need some inspiration or tips, do let me know! I’d love to help!
P.S.: The radio show sounds really cool! I bet that must be great fun :)
helen of troy for the blog ask meme?
their blog url: at first it was probably a cutesy inspiration quote but after she went to troy she remade and now it’s something sad and despairing
the kind of posts they reblog: she used to be an aesthetics blog so she reblogged a bunch of pink stuff and people with flowers in their hair looking away, now it’s depressing text posts and like punk music
the first person they followed: probably clytemnestra tbh
what kind of theme they’d have: used to be minimalist with hints of lavender, now it’s black with block letters
what kind of text posts they make at 2am: readmores. nothing but sad, angry readmores
Rousseau, Chagall?
Rousseau: What is your main philosophy in life?
Good question. It changes from week to week, but here are a few things:
In the area of ethics/morality, I tend to experince tension between a sort of idealistic Germanic/Kantian sense of duty, and a more practical idea that what is "right" or "just" varies from context to context and can never be reduced to an absolute. Thankfully, these approaches don't conflict as often as one might think, but it is kind of a problem.
My social/political philosophy is something I've been thinking about a lot lately, and it currently is a weird amalgamation of libertarian socialism, deep ecology, and Leninism. Each one of those ideologies has things that I like and a things that I disagree with. What if comes down to is the tension between the dual priorites I see for any progressive political system: to liberate people (from wage slavery, patriarchy, racism, state repression, etc.), and to also achieve the level of mass organization needed to combat global problems (mainly globl warming, but also nuclear disarmment, and even things like bio- and nano-technology).I can elaborate, if need be, but it will get really long.
I also have some ideas in a more existential vein, but they are nebulous and not very consistent, so I won't record them here.
There are other philosophical areas that I have opinions about, but they don't fall under my "main philosophy" in life.
Chagall: What 'style' or 'clique' do people typically associate you with?
I generally try to avoid looking like an adherent to a particular style. I am not sure whether or not I am sucessful at this, though. Once, russialovespilots said I looked like a 70 year old professor, for what it's worth.
more Enjolras and Feuilly in every way possible is important tbh. their relationship is so sweet and loving and supportive like we really need to support more things with stuff like that! i like the idea that sometimes if Enjolras knows Feuilly is studying pr working late or Feuilly knows Enjolras is studying late that they send each other emails and texts about how great they are (but really, you should sleep, even if I'm not) (YOu"RE RLY GREAT THO love you!! xxxxxxxxx - both of them probably)
yesss. I mean I understand why everyone loves conflict and messy relationships in fiction, but if I'm being completely honest, mutual support and respect are my favourite things in pairings, and Enjolras and Feuilly is like, perfect for that. <3
ahhh they would send each other texts like these, too - and since they're both busy people who don't always have time to see a lot of each other, I could totally see them leave each other post-its on books they share or lend to each other, on the fridge, on a pile of work the other has to do, on the left overs they left the other for tomorrow's lunch... <3
cute things: you ;) but also imagine one of jolys friends not feeling well so he like walks over with as many blankets and stuffed animals as he can carry and makes tem tea and is like please lie down and hug whatever animals you want friend
xoxoxo
Everyone needs a Joly in their life. No clue why they don't come standard issue.

i forgot about it too and i probably will go do that again haha i read part of that in like 10th grade and thought i was so edgy and cool
Oh my god, i want to make a goodreads account just so i can give it a five star rating with the review "edgy and cool"
mayormadeleinerobin replied to your post:[[MOR]jk rowling said she never imagined there...
i’ve read so many quotes from her recently that are so weird like what is she trying to accomplish
"quotes" more like desperate attempts to stay relevant and get praised for representation and being inclusive even though she should of put like half the shit she's trying to get credit for IN THE ACTUAL BOOKS
