I dunno why it took until, like, an entire season of "the City is a place ruled by willpower. You know willpower? Yes see this is a competition of will and it's all willpower" to actually process that Jacob-then-Rat being so single-minded and stubborn, super quick to judge, "I'm not good at talking with people with limited perceptions," is, you know, the reason why he's managed to do perfectly fine in a world that apparently chews through most humans, why he's listed with Michael Waters as basically a Magic Celebrity.
(And like probably this should've been obvious from the "it's a radio transistor!" nonsense.)
I don't really know what I mean by any of this except "stubborn and obsessive (affectionate)".
Thinking about the curse of Atreides and how the cycle of vengeance is perpetuated exclusively within the family. And when Clytemnestra kills Agamemnon, she doesn't finish the job. She leaves Orestes alive in exile, or in some versions Electra gets him out of her reach before Clytemnestra can do anything (which I suppose implies she might have planned to kill Orestes).
If Cly wanted to end the curse she should have killed anyone who might have had a motive to avenge Agamemnon. That means both of her children.
But somehow she fails to complete her "monstrous" /lionesque transformation into a member of the Tantalids who kill their young. By failing to become a full-fledged Tantalid herself, her son and daughter become "monstrous" in turn by growing up and finding themselves in circumstances that push them to avenge their father by murdering their mother.
Honestly the queue and schedule post options on Tumblr are extremely underrated. No other major social networking site has the ability to do that with the same ease as Tumblr does, and we've had them for like a decade now. They're fantastic features and Tumblr doesn't get enough credit for having them.
I'm actually willing to assert that Tumblr actually has some of the best site functionality:
- queue/schedule system
- tagging that doesn't interfere with the actual content of posts
- the ask/inbox system
- ability to make likes/following lists private
- ability to reblog posts multiple times
- the "Keep Reading" feature
- ability to easily post different media. AFAIK Tumblr is the only social media site that lets you post audio without it being a video.
- dash is always in reverse chronological order
Tumblr might be a trash fire but it's the best trash fire of all social media platforms.

[ID: A digital drawing of a scene from the episode in archive 81 titled āwhatever is in the pond ⦠kill itā. the main drawing is framed by smaller doodles on either side of a radio, four bees and an eye with tears falling out of it. in the main part of the drawing, the foreground shows a glowing goldfish in a small pond surrounded by a wall. beyond it chris anderson is standing on the left and nick waters on the right, the drawing cuts off just before their eyes. the background is a partially visible doorway leading to a seemingly endless hallway standing behind the two of them, and the room has walls made of red bricks. both nick and chistineās figures are outlined by a pale beige and next to the fish there is text reading āwhatever is in the pond ā¦ā. /End ID]
