For a long moment, Adam allowed himself to just... watch him.

The easy way Rod smiled.

The restless energy that never quite settled, even in stillness.

Not admiration.

Not yet.

But something older.

Something like... trust.

Something Adam had rarely, if ever, given to anyone before.

He found it... comforting.

Unsettlingly so.

Adam closed his eyes.

Tomorrow would be another mission.

Another battle.

Another test.

And if he was lucky —

Rod would be there, shoulder-to-shoulder, fighting at his side.

Always.

Maytroid Day 20: Trace

Well… what would Metroid be without a little bit of backtracking, eh? So for this one I kinda wanted to go for an idea where Trace gets hit while cloaked and it disrupts the cloaking field, hence the lack of color in some areas. Not my best piece, but I’m not used to drawing the Tracist spider.

Trace will be one of several characters faced in the story I am working on, Metroid Prime: The Great Hunt. Based on Seregauss’s album of the same name, The Great Hunt is a sequel to Metroid Prime: Hunters and Metroid Dread, while being a spiritual sequel to Metroid Fusion. Samus Aran will embark on a journey to uncover hidden technologies, face old foes, and meet some new ones as well. You can listen to the album now on YouTube.

Metroid stuff but I need to explain what this means lmao.

So the Maytroid prompt for today was Hunter OC or Hunter Redesign. Now occasionally I’ve been doing these series of scribbles where Tauro from Tears of the Kingdom is thrown into the Metroid universe & Samus has to deal with him. So I thought ‘Hey I haven’t done one of these dumb scribbles in a while’ so I used this prompt. Tauro isn’t an original character but fuck it lol, he’s original for Metroid.

Also there’s Anthony Higgs & look I remembered him lol.
