“Hey Y/N,” Minho says to you. “Wanna be my girlfriend?”
“Shuck off,” Alby says. “She’s not dating anyone.”
That’s Alby for you, always so protective. He sees you like a sister, which also means he won’t let you date anybody.
You roll your eyes and walk away, into the Deadheads. You’re not mad that Alby keeps doing that, you’ve got a boyfriend (that he doesn’t know about), but you’re supposed to be the one turning people down.
“Hey.” Newt’s voice rings through the trees as he sits down next to you.
You smile at him. “Hey.”
“What’s Alby yelling at Minho about?”
You sigh. “He asked me out.”
He sighs. “Why can’t we just tell everyone? If Alby really cares about you he’ll respect it.”
You shake your head. “No-no he’ll kill you.”
He chuckles. “He won’t kill me.”
“Well, I can’t tell him. Not yet.”

You look at Newt out of the corner of your eye as a smile tugs at your lips, and you see him do the same.
“Y/N?” Alby shakes your arm.
“What? Yeah, sorry. What?”
He chuckles. “You okay?”
You nod. “Yeah, just thinking about stuff.”
“What stuff?”
“Just... stuff. Nothing you need to worry about.”
He nods. “Well, I’m gonna go make sure everyone’s doing their jobs, I’ll be right back.”
You nod, and he walks away.
Newt immediately walks over to you and puts his arms around you. “Quit staring.”
“But it’s a good view,” you say while laughing.
“Well if you don’t want Alby to kill me then you need to quit it,” he says while leaning against a wall.
You sigh. “Fine.”
He chuckles. “Once it’s dark you can stare all you want, just not while Alby’s around.”
You sigh again. “Fine. Go back to work.”
He chuckles and gives you a quick kiss. “Love you.”
“Love you too.”
“You what?” Alby’s voice rings from about seven feet away, and you turn to look at him.
“Aw crap.”
He looks at Newt. “I would’ve thought that you of all people would’ve understood.”
“You can’t dictate what I do, and whether I date anyone. I get it, you care about me, but you’ve gotta let me be happy.”
“This... this makes you happy?”
You nod. “It does. He does.”
He sighs. “Fine. But if he hurts you, even on accident, he gets Banished.”
