Today’s mutuals march shoutout goes to @yourtokentrophywife! The Flintwood corner of the HP fandom is so lucky to have her -- she wonderfully captures their dynamic with stories full of humor, antagonistic flirting, and delicious tension. It’s impossible to read her works and not have a guttural reaction.
Every interaction we’ve had has been so positive and I smile every time she posts a new fic. (Or draws?!? How can you not fall in love with her Marcus and Oliver?!?) Narrowing it down for this list was nearly impossible, but here are some fics I highly recommend checking out (and if you haven’t read Flintwood yet, you’re in for a real treat).
random superlatives and recs:
gift yourself a laugh and smile: The Keeper and the Key // M // 3K // Flintwood // Marcus Flint is oblivious and it makes for a perfect mix of pining and humor. There are scenes of this fic that I’ll never forget and put a smile on my face every time I think of it.
football + flintwood, need I say more?: Big Brutes and Frappuccinos // E // WIP // Flintwood // Currently at over 74K and every chapter just gets better -- the characterization is stellar and the alternating POV really helps the reader to just sink into Marcus and Oliver’s headspaces. The doubts, angst, and misunderstandings just grip you. This is a WIP worth waiting for.
Oliver Wood in leggings 😍: Yoga // M // 7.4K // Flintwood // You too can experience Marcus Flint’s panic at Oliver bending over in tight pants! This is one of those fics that’s both laugh out loud funny and the flirting is on point. Marcus is an awkward bean and I (and you will) love him for it.
the holiday fic too sexy to be limited to December: santa’s lap // E // 3.6K // Colin Hughes/Isaac McAdoo (Ted Lasso) // Even if you’ve never watched Ted Lasso, this fic will sell you on the pairing. Pure holiday football/soccer fun (read: smut).
Sam, thank you for all your creativity, feeding my Flintwood addiction, and helping me find and fall in love with the Ted Lasso fandom! You’re a fantastic writer and I’m so honored to call you a mutual! I’ll stop fangirling now. I hope you’re doing well! 💙
