Not gonna lie, Poly!McHanzo is my jam now too. How about the boys show up to the reader's workplace to surprise reader and they notice the reader is getting harassed. How it ends is so up to you. ^_^ Thanks love!
“Are those roses?” Hanzo Shimada said as he walked alongside his boyfriend, Jesse McCree. The two were holding hands, and in Jesse’s other was a beautiful bouquet of white roses in pink wrap with a bow. Hanzo held a box of chocolates.
The two had decided to stop by and pick you up from work, and wanted to give you a surprise of flowers and chocolates. Between them both, they loved to spoil you, though Hanzo always managed to come up with clever arguments as to why it is not ‘spoiling’.
Giving his boyfriend a lopsided grin, he winked. “Sure is, darlin’. Wish I’d bought you some?” he asked playfully.
Letting out a long sigh, Hanzo gave him a sideways glance. “You know she loves white lilies and red tulips the best, right?” Hanzo said. “I mentioned that when we split up to grab these.”
After a moment, Jesse’s face went from overjoyed to panicked. “Shit! You did-these just looked really pretty and I thought they suited you both and I totally forgot-oh god, do we have time to go back-” Jesse babbled, wanting your surprise to be perfect.
“Jesse,” Hanzo said gently, tugging him closer and leaning in to kiss his cheek, which shut Jesse up immediately. “She will love them anyway, because you chose them.” Then Hanzo smiled reassuringly as the two came up to a café that you worked at.
Nodding after a second, Jesse led Hanzo into the café. It was cute, and had opened up earlier that year. Both scanned the room, and Hanzo smiled when he saw you. Taking a step, he stopped and his expression darkened when he saw the uncomfortable look on your face as you spoke quietly with a customer.
The customer was a bit older, and looked like a sleaze ball, greasy hair a mess and his lips curled into an appreciative smile as he spoke to you.
When you started to walk off, the man stood and started to follow you. The man reached for your wrist, sounding annoyed that you were no longer acknowledging him. It was like Hanzo moved on his own.
Suddenly a warm arm pulled you against his side, and you found yourself tucked against Hanzo. His hand was gentle in your hair, holding your head to his shoulder and blocking your view of the man behind you, but you could feel the loud beating of his heart and knew it was rage.
“Sorry, sir, but it almost looked like you were going to touch our girl here,” You heard Jesse’s voice, and it was deceitfully soft, but you could hear the storm behind the calm.
Managing to turn your head to peek behind you, you saw Jesse there, his cigar in one hand and the other was gripping the man’s outstretched wrist in what looked like tight vise.
“L-Let go!” The man said, struggling and after a moment, Jesse let go. The man fell backwards so hard that he toppled to the floor, and tried inching back as Jesse slowly walked over, the spurs on the heel of his boots jingling.
Taking his lighter out, Jesse lit his cigar, before taking a puff and letting the smoke blow out. “See, sir, this young lady is our girlfriend. And we don’t really tolerate anyone touching our darlin’, y’see?” McCree said around the cigar and he crouched so the two of them were face to face.
“Jesse,” Hanzo’s voice was cold, so icy it sent a chill down your back. “It’s time to go home. Cat’s should not play with their food.”
For a moment you didn’t understand, until you saw Jesse tilt his head back to glance at you. In the light, his gaze was like that of a predator stalking its prey, playing with it before the kill. After a moment he shrugged.
“If you say so, pumpkin,” Jesse said, as the man started to crawl away. But he froze when Jesse looked back down at him. “I’d say it was a pleasure meeting you but it really wasn’t.”
With that, Jesse punched the man hard. Falling back, the mans head rolled on the floor, his eyes closed and blood on his lips. Jesse hadn’t hesitated to use his metal arm too. Others had seen everything and were all talking loudly or running out the door or were on the phone.
Ignoring the unconscious man, Jesse stood up and turned, walking over despite the commotion. You stared in disbelief, lifting your head from Hanzo’s shoulder when his arm moved to your waist instead.
At the counter was your boss and the cashier, staring at you. The manager looked really angry, you thought, and offered an apologetic smile, unsure how to explain or apologize.
~~~~~~
Long story short, you ended up fired from your new job. This was the third time in the last year and a half, and honestly…each time you were fired it was usually because of Hanzo and McCree. It wasn’t like they intended it… but the men were over protective and Jesse had this child-like curiosity that had once led her to being fired because he broke a work machine he’d thought he’d known how to use.
On the way home, you walked with the roses in your arm, Jesse fidgeted with his hat on his head. “Did I mention I’m sorry?” he said again, for the seventh time already, looked chagrined. “I didn’t mean to get you fired. I just…I couldn’t stand how he was treating you.”
Shaking your head, your squeezed his hand that you held gently. “All well. I’m getting used to it,” you said with a wink at him. You couldn’t be too angry, but only because Jesse had been so apologetic (to you only) afterwards.
“I am glad he did,” Hanzo said and he walked with his hands in his pockets, watching ahead. “No man should simply lay his hands on a woman without permission. He deserved it.”
Watching him, after a moment you managed to slide your arm through his, the one holding the roses. “Thank you for wanting to protect me,” you said gently to Hanzo, then looked between them. “Thank you both.”
Both gave you small smiles and walked you home to spend the rest of the evening together.
