Yall know how in MCD, Aphmau spawned in with the charm/medallion thing that spawned Thorgi? I had a thought that Thorgi isn’t just Aphmau’s dog, but her faithful companion who rebirths alongside Irene through every life she leads. No wonder why he’s not in need of activities to build trust between them. He may not have memories of the other lives (or maybe he does), but regardless, he knows Irene is the person to love and devote himself to no matter what form they take when she inevitably starts their lives over.

There’s a bit where Meowki gets himself stuck in a tree in Aphmau’s front yard many, MANY times, to the point where Aphmau considers training Thorgi to go and get him. Well, by the time Meowki dies (rest in peace Meowki l), Thorgi is well versed in the art of catching him and bringing him back inside. Along came Meowki ll and the same deal occurred. The same escape to the same tree. There’s a reason the Meowki ll’s ran away. Apparently not every cat is content with getting scruffed by a big wolf and brought back inside.

Sometimes Thorgi would still go looking for them in the tree where they consistently got themselves stuck. He didn’t particularly like the meowing of the devil cats, but they were still his (Aphmau appointed) siblings.

Knowing that Thorgi held onto life just in the hopes that he would see Aphmau one last time kills me whenever I think about it. Even worse, Aphmau’s other pups that were just as loyal probably died thinking she left them on purpose and they never got to say goodbye. Maybe someone painted Aphmau in her time as lord. Maybe when the pups got old and sick, one by one, they got to lay with that picture and be with her. Maybe they were able to pass peacefully with her at their side.

This is one of many Aphmau dog headcanons but im just gonna share them one at a time

Aphmau used to take baby Levin on rides around the village/ forest on Phoenix’s back. Phoenix would nudge his way into the harness she’d attach his saddle to because he was so excited to be the dog of the day.

After Aphmau disappeared, Zoey would try to console Phoenix and give him a purpose again by letting the kids ride with him and following behind them with the other pups. It made their daily walks feel less empty. Kiki continued this tradition once she was in charge of them by riding on him while Leona was learning to transform into a full wolf.

He was buried with his harness and saddle.
