can we talk about the representation in The Irregulars?

I mean a strong irish-chinese female lead, british leads, and a male of color lead, that’s amazing for a netflix show! spoiler(ish) and the LGBTQ representations, I got so happy. I didn’t expect that from a victorian timeline but i’m so glad it happened.

overall, The Irregulars is a great show but the representation makes it even better in my opinion.

Love how every member of the Irregulars brings an important and indespensible skill set

Bea understands people, she sees connections and the bigger picture, she is a natural leader.

Leo is smart and has access to all these obscure facts but recognizes and values the skills he lacks in others.

Billy has strength and a deep seated need to protect his family.

Spike is charismatic and personable, getting past people's defenses and winning their trust.

And Jessie has her supernatural powers, empathy and the ability to understand the greys and nuance of people.

They all need each other and the story incorporates them all like puzzle pieces to make a formidable whole.
