Claris Life sciences tanks 7% after arm receives USFDA Form 483::
On Monday, Claris Lifesciences informed about a fall of more than 7 percent intraday after its subsidiary received USFDA Form 483 with five observations. Claris Life sciences Injectables has received five 483s, while the inspection on the plant 1-Clarion 1 was going on. The pharmaceutical company has its head quarter located at Ahmedabad. The plant is actually situated at Charcharvadi in Vasna and was inspected by US Food and Drug Administration from 16 August to 26 August 2016. However, the company has 24 ANDAs under approval with market size of around USD 2 billion.
At 11:43 hours IST, the scrip of Claris Lifesciences was quoting at Rs 256.80, down Rs 14.95, or 5.50 percent on the BSE.

Salt export decreases::
The largest producer of salt in India is Tamil Nadu, but the export of salt from the district of state has gone down badly in year 2015-16. The records of last year export of salt from the district shows that 71084 tonnes of salt was exported in 2014-15. However, this year the export of salt was of 36,918 tonnes. The main reason for export decrease is the competition from Gujarat and also from other countries like Iran and Pakistan that have entered the market of export recently.
In July, the export of salt from Tuticorin was reported to be of 11500 tonnes. However, the quantity of export came down to 9857 tonnes this year. Initially, the countries like Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea used to import salt from Tuticorin, but now they are importing salt from Gujarat.

Revenue down 8.2% at Trump Taj Mahal amid strike::
A strike that helped persuade Billionaire investor Carl Icahn to close Atlantic City’s Trump Taj Mahal casino driving revenue down by 8.2% in July, even as most of the city’s other seven casinos performed well during the crucial summer month. The strike began July 1st and is continuing.
Billionaire Carl Icahn owns the casino that Donald Trump opened in 1990. Icahn is shutting it down October 10, remarking it is losing millions of dollars a month.
Figures cited on Friday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement show the Taj Mahal won USD 17.5 million from gamblers in July, down 8.2% from the USD 19.1 million it won in July 2015 when there was no strike.
The results probably to worse had there not been an extra Saturday and Sunday this July compared to last July. Overall profits at Atlantic City’s eight casinos was above 6.9% in July, to USD 275.2 million.

SBI and Korea Development Bank join hands for business opportunities::
State bank of India (SBI), Country’s largest public sector enterprise, and Korea Development Bank (KDB) have signed an MOU to develop business synergies in the domains of corporate finance, project finance and asset finance. The MOU was signed between SBI chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya, and chairman and CEO of Korea Development Bank, Lee Dong Geol.
The SBI statement indicated, ‘the Asset finance comprises trade finance, capital markets, cash management products, infrastructure/real estate financing, syndicated loans, securitization, derivatives, financial advisory services, risk management and acquisition finance’.
The proposed credit lines from Korea Development Bank will help SBI to offer competitive terms for facilitating bilateral business. KDB is providing funding facility to SBI through credit lines as per terms agreed between the two banks. The funds may be utilized for money market, trade finance and loans to Korean companies generating business in the country.

India’s fuel demand rose 3.9 percent in July
India’s fuel demand increased 3.9% in July compared with the same month last year.
The data released by the PPAC (Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell) of the oil ministry showed that the consumption of fuel, a proxy for old demand totaled 14.92 million tones.
Sales of petrol were 14.7% higher from a year earlier at 1.92 million tonnes. The LPG sales rose 8.8% to 1.71 million tonnes, while naphtha sales rushed 6.3% to 1.10 million tonnes. Sales of bitumen, used for making roads, were 0.7% lower, while fuel oil use edged up 6.5% in July.

Toyota launches petrol Innova Crysta to overcome diesel ban::

The company has launched the petrol Innova Crysta to overcome the ban of diesel by Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has imposed the ban on vehicles of diesel engine with 2000 CC and above. The company had stopped selling its diesel version of Innova Crysta due to ban in Delhi-NCR. The new segment launched by the company will be powered by a 2.7 litre new engine. However, the new petrol Innova Crysta will be available in the range of Rs 13.73 lakh to Rs 19.62 lakh in both manual and automatic transmission versions.
