Chapter Two - I like whatever's wrong with you

“...you endangered the lives of yourself and many others.”

John woke up the next morning with Elizabeth’s words still ringing in his ears. She was right, of course. He’d shot Peterson. But he died of the nanite virus not the gunshot wound. Rodney had assured him of that several times but it didn’t make it any less painful that he had to shoot one of their own people again. Hell, he was still having nightmares of Sumner.

He shuddered. At least it was morning and he could start running again. It seemed to be the only thing that helped. Running. As long as he was moving, his busy brain didn’t have time to entertain the intrusive thoughts.

Thoughts like Rodney almost dying yesterday. John wasn’t even there with him for his almost last moments. Radek had almost died too. His gut twisted in knots and he lay there staring at the ceiling.

Had Elizabeth not told him off in her office, he’d have felt like checking on Rodney the night before. But not after that. She had confirmed his worst fears. Even Teyla had taken her side. He was a reckless screw-up only good for setting off bombs if Rodney needed one.

John heard a knock at the door and checked his watch. Thirty minutes had passed since he woke up. Hell. He must’ve been thinking pretty hard not to have noticed.

“Coming.” John opened the door and there was Rodney, up and fully dressed, which was unusual at this early hour.

“Rodney?” Sheppard was stunned, “What are you doing here? It’s…it’s early morning…thought you’d sleep in after yesterday –”

“Ah, yesterday,” Rodney raised a finger in emphasis, “Yes, that’s, um, what I’d like to talk to you about, John. Can I come in?”

✍️ so, you're gonna laugh. I had a dream Rodney and Radek were arguing and then they started making out and doing stuff. I thought they were hot so I wrote it down. Thought they were so hot, decided to keep going and get Sheppard involved. It was a good call because all three are very hot together.

🃏Why include Sheppard if Mclenka was hot already?

I wanted Rodney to go through the angst of falling in love with two at the same time. It only seemed natural to include Sheppard at that point. Rodney had to break out of his monogamous mindset and consider the third option. Choosing both. It was a choice he hadn't even considered and most don't since it's not the norm for Westerners. He had to think differently.

Chapter 3 - Three is the Magic Number

Much to Radek’s protest, they cut the camping trip short, packed up and took him back to Atlantis. Carson patched up his burn and told him to stay off a laptop for a few days but he was free to go home.

John and Rodney fussed over him once they got to their apartment, making him sit while they served him dinner and watched a movie while cuddling on the couch.

“See, this is just as good as a camping trip.”

Rodney insisted, as he inched closer and closer under Radek until he was practically in his lap, kissing his neck. Radek felt it hard to concentrate on the movie as he moaned. Not to be left out, John snuggled in on the side of him, pulling him in for a long slow kiss while tangling his fingers up in Radek’s uninjured hand.

“Feel any better, Babe,” John asked while he began to straddle him, by now the movie completely forgotten. He removed his glasses and set them on the coffee table.

“Mmm, oh, yes,” Radek pulled him in for another kiss as he pushed John’s hip all the way over himself. He could feel himself getting hard and knew he wasn’t about to put a stop to it.

As far as questions,

Through Time and Space: What inspired you to write this?

I wanted to see the snark of Star Trek tos matched with the snark of SGA only I was not prepared for the level of schmoop with their combined forces. I should've known though.

This Simple Feeling: Why do you need a third part since the story of them getting together was already complete in the second part?

Because relationships are more interesting when they have a chance to grow together and I wanted to see them do that for each other. And also have more sex. What? they're hot.

The Brains of Atlantis Part III

Chapter Two - Rainbow Falls

The next morning, after a good night’s rest together in their new apartment, John flew them in a Jumper to the mainland as a part of their mini-vacation. There was a special place he’d found while ‘on patrol’ he dubbed Rainbow Falls, after his favorite Hawaiian spot his family used to visit growing up.

A wide river spread out into a lake and from above came a cascading waterfall rushing over a cave that stretched out beneath it. The lakeside had a clearing where John landed and they immediately began setting up a campsite, planning to spend the night there.

“I will get a fire going and make us lunch,” Radek told them after the campsite was set up. “You two go enjoy the lake. I will call you when is ready.”

“Oh, um, you sure you don’t want any help?” Rodney’s eyes pleaded with hope he might repay Radek in some way for all he’d done for him lately.

“No, no, no, no,” Radek waved him off, “Cooking for both of you is relaxing to me. I have been doing since I was six or seven years old…over a fire too. You go and enjoy water. I will be fine.”

John looked at Rodney and they glanced back to Radek, “If you say so. C’mon, Rodney. I wanna show you the cave.”

John pulled Radek in for an unexpected kiss and Rodney did the same. Radek smiled at them breathlessly as they took off down the lake for the cave under the waterfall.
