I love the theory that the elderly Steve at the end of Endgame was a skrull. Why? Because it would literally fix EVERITHING revolving Steve's ending, as well as major plot inconsistencies.

⤷ How come Steve was able to just... wait out at the same park that his past-self left for the past when it was clearly established that when you go back in time to change something, a new branch is created in the timeline, creating a completely new reality, therefore it would be impossible for old Steve to just wait at the same park to meet up with Sam and bucky? (it was literally the explanation they gave as to why they couldn't just go back in time and kill baby-Thanos lmao)

Because that wasn't the real Steve Rogers, it was a skrull pretending to be him.

⤷ Why would Steve ever want to go back to the past to live the rest of his life with a woman he barely knew when it was already established by Steve him-fucking-self that he was ready to move on?

Not just any Bucky- THE James Buchanan Barnes, to fed for himself in a whole new world he has not yet had time to understand as well as Steve did, when he PROMISED him that it would always be them against the world? See what I mean? That could transition into to such an interesting conflict too! Maybe (to tie in with a better version of Secret Invasion idk) it was part of the skrulls' plot! To take Captain America off the picture, and manipulate others into believing that Steve just left them out of his own volition, as a way to discourage anyone from looking for him. To make taking over the earth easier!

UGH! The concept of skrulls has got to be one of the most interesting, most scary concepts the MCU has ever introduced, losing only to The Red Room.

And yet, just like The Red Room, the MCU fucked it all up. I hate it.

If Tony Stark wasn't rich, PTSD would never be accepted as an excuse for his actions.

Bucky grew up poor in depression era New York and yet despite PTSD and *not being in control* he had to endure a ton of narrative punishment and spend *years* proving he's not just bad.

Yelena was a poor kid from Russia. Bob was a poor kid from Florida. Nobody helped either of them with their trauama. Instead they're just left in the gutter or even blamed for "making their problems everyone else's business".

Although I haven't watched Ironheart, there's also a general pervasive attitute with characters from poor backgrounds that trauma is "no excuse" and they have to take responsibility.

Yet the billioniaire who can afford the best therapy there is but doesn't bother does something which kills people and everyone be like "Its not his fault! He has PTSD!"

Okay, I don't usually do this. But unfortunately, there are users who are so cowardly that they don't have the guts to argue face to face, but instead just block you and continue their tantrum behind your back... 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

It's incredibly disturbing how Sam Stans bend over backwards to try to justify ableist, victim-blaming behavior that you wouldn't expect from a VA like Sam. As much as it pains them, and at the risk of repeating myself, licensed real-life therapists who have experience working with victims of abuse are NOT happy with Sam's behavior.

And if you don't have a PhD in psychology, you can't come complaining and believe that your ignorant opinions carry more weight than this.

I feel very satisfied whenever I find at least a few rare fanfics that actually call out on how truly horrible M*bius and the TVA are in canon.

Like I don't even need to explain all of the messed up shit he did to Loki and just thinking about him just makes my blood boil.

Remember when Loki said that he's going to burn the TVA to the ground? (But sadly it never actually happened)

Well in my personal fantasies I imagine Thor finding out about everything they did to his brother and just straight up obliterates the fuck out of them from sheer rage that is well deserved since in the end they are just fascists whom committed genocide.

see theres an alternate version of loki (and the mcu) in my head where theyre actually well-written and have depth and feel the effects of the trauma given to them and are queer and traumatised and relatable.

like i am waiting for an MCU reboot but also the deployment of iron man in the mcu after 2012 has been disastrous for the ecosystem in pretty much every way and i fear we may never recover his characterization as long as i am alive

My biggest issue with the way MCU portrays all kinds of relationships is its firm stance on "presence of love/care = absence of abuse".

For some reason the abusers' feelings are almost always more important than the trauma of the abused.

Haven’t seen the Doomsday trailer since I’m purposely avoiding it, all I know is people on this site are already squealing about TVA Loki’s appearance, despite him only being in it for a second. Unironically saw someone claim “THE RUSSOS LISTENED TO US!” Hate to tell the TVA Loki stans….but they’re about to be verrry disappointed. (Which I hate to be mean, but the OG Loki fans warned the series stans about sucking up to and defending Waldron and the Russos.)

Also, also. I still hate the collective fanbase has STILL forgotten about our Loki, and if they haven’t they just seem to actively dislike him and treat him like a deceased goldfish they can flush down the toilet for a new one. Marvel seems to have sadly won for the larger part, at least. It’s just dissapointing. But hey, once TVA Loki is killed off, at least Waldron and the Russos will never touch anything Loki related again. (Hopefully….)

Part of me really wants those leaks turn out to be true, because I feel like that so karmic for the Russo not giving actors full scripts and having actors film completely alone only for that to be rendered pointless. Really rub it in there was no point in doing that.

I've said before, after how other stories to have the TVA slaughter to prove how superstrongimportant Doom would be deserved. For that story element to be used as stepping stone for the next bad with little regard would be amusing at this point.

The only thing that worries me is that the TVA would be revived after the next movie rather than leaving dead.

Something I though of, another reason continuing on with TVA version Loki is so frustrating is because it really is pilling on what a waist of the Thor mythos and Norse mythology was in the MCU. I am not excited to see Tom Hiddleston in a brown jacket. I want to see Loki in his cool clothes do magic things, I don't want to see him be brown shirt and putz around with other brownshirts.

I felt Netflix's Twilight of the Gods was a mixed bag for me because Zack Snyder style is not my thing, but that being said it was so refreshing seeing an unabashed fantasy with Loki being clever, devious and tragically sympathetic. Someone actually read a book before writing that.

I am reminded how much was done and now we'll never see in the MCU, we're never know what happened to jotunhiem, we'll never see any of the other realms. It was a world of gods and magic, and it was mad so mundane and then it was erased
