So this is just a quick fanfic of Mystic messenger, I hate doing second person but for the sake of this i decided to try it. It was written p quickly, and is vaguely based on the theory that “seven remembers every reset”
“Luciel?” you mumbled into the phone.
If it was even possible you could feel his grin over the phone, “It is I, the great Seven-Oh-Seven, blessing you with his voice~~”
You smiled, your heart did that flutter thing it always did when Luciek took time out of his day to call you. It felt great; it felt wonderful, it felt—
“Hey, Luciel, have you had lunch yet?”
There was the sound of crunching over the phone. You did your best to suppress a sigh. “Yep~” He singsonged, “You?”
‘Honey Buddha Chips does not count as lunch.’ You wanted to say, but knowing him it would only end in a rant about how the food was the best in the world and ‘omg how could you not count them as a full course meal! You really need to keep up with the times!~’
Instead you said, “I’m getting lunch now, Classes just ended for me.”
“Ah~ Your still in your third semester right~”
“Yeah, I’ve been going kind of slow because of work and stuff, but hopefully I’ll catch up soon…”
“Haha, I can’t believe you, by the time I was your age I was already being my super cool hacker self.”
“Well…” You said, “Not all of us can be geniuses like you Love.”
“Oh!” Seven exclaimed over the phone, “My heart! Say that again!”
You smiled, “Love, my love,” And then, teasingly, you added, “I love my Luciel~”
“No~” He cooed, “I-I’m down for the count~ it seems the power of love has finally defeated me~” there was a thump from the other end, you wouldn’t have put it past him to dramatically fall back on his chair for the sake of his theatrics, “Tell Elly I love her~ I wish I could have patted her one more time~”
Even as the line went quiet you couldn’t stop yourself from giggling. It only took a few moments until his voice came back, “Ah~ and you were just going to let me move on, weren’t you?”
You smiled, wiping the tears from your eyes you said, “Now Luciel, you know I would have called someone to revive you, I still need you for the party after all.”
In that moment his voice took a drastic turn, getting deeper, more unsure, “How long?” He asked.
You sighed, this always happened when you got close to the party, “Three days….”
There was a silence over the phone, and then softly Luciel asked, “You’re going to pick me again, after the party…right?”
Sometimes you wondered if he remembered the moments in between.
“Of course I will, I’ll always pick you.” You say, although the words came out shaky.
It wasn’t because you were lying, it was just that he was forgetting. With every playthough it always seemed like he forgot more and more little moments. From how long it took for the party, to moments you spent together. Occasionally he would drop off midconversation and it would be like a recording took over, like it was supposed to.
“I’ll miss you.” He said, because sometimes it took a while for you to restart the game.
“Ill miss you too, but I’ll come back. I always come back to you…”
There’s another silence but just as quickly as it came; it was gone. Luciel’s laugh filled the speakers as he said “Ohhhh~ I love you soooooo much MC~”
And you swallowed. It was only a matter of time now.
