So, talking with certain people the other day, this came to my mind, it’s going to be a series of six one shots featuring the RFA+V in their days as old people marred with MC and how theit lives. I’m not planning to include Saeran at the moment.
Zen stared at his reflection on the mirror; it was difficult to look at his hair and notice the trace of time with the natural shade of white it had always harbored. His face, however, was entire different story; the wrinkles were visible in every single one of his expressions.
In his younger days he had always been wary of any possible sign that the time was passing and he was getting old. Now he spent most of his days bragging how he was the most handsome actor the world laid his eyes on, even at the age of fifty six.
MC stood beside him, fixing her earrings making sure she looked as good as possible for their oldest daughter’s wedding, Zen made sure to press a kiss on her cheek when she finished.
-I can’t believe she grew up so fast- MC muttered.
-Imagine how it was for me- Zen commented –I told her that men were wolves the instant she was born, she never listened. Can you believe she is marrying one of them?- He whined, a laugh came out of MC as she finished touching up her hair to assure to herself she looked like she came out of a magazine.
-Hey, I married one of those beasts too, remember? - MC said walking away from the mirror; Zen took no time in following her buttoning his suit.
-That’s unfair MC- Zen commented walking the stairs of the house –I was always a gentleman with you during the day…
-But a night- MC raised her eyebrows playfully making a blush creep up his face –No need to be embarrassed Zenny, we had three children, remember?- Zen laughed at his wife’s demeanor and playfulness. –Besides, she said yes to marrying him, what other warranty do you need that is a gentleman?- Zen went outside behind her, letting her close the door with key, the neighborhood was safe, but you could never be sure what was going to happen.
-I guess you are right- Zen surrendered opening the car’s door for his wife before opening his own and getting ready to drive, he missed his old bike. He was relieved to know his youngest son was still using it; he couldn’t bear the thought of leaving it to accumulate dust in the garage.
They arrived at the ceremony fifteen minutes earlier, so Zen could leave their daughter at the altar, he wouldn’t admit he teared up even if it was just a bit; yet, MC knew so she rubbed his arm comforting him hearing the soft “I do” their daughter mutter with a smile upon her face.
Zen was glad to know the entirety of the RFA could manage to assist, even if he still had a bit of a grudge with Jumin seeing how his son was the one marrying his daughter; nonetheless he was happy it was Jumin’s son and not some thief she had met in some midnight club.
The ceremony brought memories to his mind reminding him of his own wedding but that one was a bit messier. He could remember Yoosung almost crying because he thought he had lost the rings only to remember seconds later they were on his pocket; Jumin had insisted in paying for the ceremony and ended up giving them the honeymoon despite their protests; Jaehee had resigned herself to a life of loneliness but still was particularly excited of being MC’s maid of honor; Seven continued muttering things about young love and how he wouldn’t be able to sell his pictures on the bot now that he belonged to someone and V offered to photograph the event as his gift and MC was the most beautiful woman he had ever met
Now Jumin had assured he was going to pay for the event ignoring Zen’s protests assuring it was his duty; Yoosung was talking in a low voice to his wife about how beautiful the ceremony was and that he was lucky to seeing the girl grow up; Jaehee was happily married no longer working for Jumin; Seven’s daughter was the maid of honor and Saeran agreed to go reluctantly; V couldn’t see anymore, it was okay, his presence and his kids’ was more than enough to make everyone happy and MC was still the most beautiful woman he had ever met but now the girl getting married and the one in front of him looking at his older sister offered a strong competition.
He was grateful he could still act, he had seen many actors step away from the careers as soon as the age began to make a mark on them, he continued, even if he wasn’t the handsome love interest or the sexy man in action, now playing roles like the father, the mentor, the teacher and sometimes even the grandpa. It was perfect for him.
The reception was kept as private as possible thanks to Jumin’s bodyguards who didn’t let a single paparazzi or reporter go inside the place. After everyone gave their toasts and a few tears were spilled (mostly from Yoosung, of course Zen wouldn’t cry) the dance floor began to fill with happy couples or drunken people too wasted to care that they practically stepping over themselves.
-Let’s dance- Zen invited, MC nearly chocked in the glass of wine she was drinking staring at him with her eyes open and an entertained smile on her face.
-Now? - She laughed –Zen, honey, we both know I’m already too old for that – She gave another taste at her wine
-Nonsense! I’m sure you’re as good as you were on our wedding night Love- He flirted; she laughed and placed the glass over the table
-Well, I’m drunk so, who cares?- MC joked as she stood up allowing Zen to do the same, he grabbed her hand as the tune to some popular and romantic song could be heard across the dance floor.
They had a smile plastered across their faces as they moved their feet at the rhythm of the song; he helped her to spin and held her close whenever he felt like it. They usually danced to each other, but of course, they were alone listening to I can’t help falling in love, It wasn’t a big change between dancing at home and dancing in front of all these people.
They were together and they had each other, even if all the studios and fans turned his back on him as long as he had his family and his precious wife supporting him he wouldn’t need anything else. He was sure of that as he kissed her when they finished dancing in the middle of the dance floor.
