♕: Holding hands.
I made a post abt this before, but I was want to reiterate that a huge reason of why some people in chronic pain make “No walking/yoga/drinking tea found only in this one weird new yorker’s rooftop garden won’t fix me” is because it’s so frustrating for us to be doing all that we can to get better, but still be in so much pain we can’t function.
So I have seen some people critique the We Can’t All Be Neurotypical Attitude many neurodivergent people have espoused as a rejection of coping mechanisms. And they are right, that occasionally we bad mouth advice like drinking water or taking a walk. However I always saw this as a response to neurotypical unwanted advice. It helps me to really understand that I wasn’t alone and the often dismissive advice Well Meaning Aunt or Random Coworker gives (just don’t think abt ur anxiety, then it will go away sorta stuff) was truly not helpful
