how i tag ships
Hi all. Instead of using standard ship names, I categorize some relationship tags based on my level of investment (OTP vs. Ship—both could be gen, romantic, or a secret third thing) paired with a canon quote that I feel best represents their bond. Because not all of these quotes are universally recognizable, here is the masterlist for reference:
The OTPs (Highest Investment)
a hand to hold - Gaius and Merlin
the dark days to come - Finna and Merlin
why did you leave - Will and Merlin
mortaeus flower - Nimueh and Merlin
in a living grave - Aithusa and Morgana
The Ships (General Investment)
you always have a choice - Gaius and Gwen
my favourite patient - Gaius and Morgana
guards on the door - Helios and Morgana
my dagger at your back - Arthur and Morgana
take heart - Arthur and Merlin
she was like you - Daegal and Merlin
splinters - Mordred and Merlin
a vague memory - Balinor and Merlin
i'll miss you too - Hunith and Merlin
For all other pairings, I use standard names (e.g., mercelot, mergwen), with one notable exception: mergharrah (my tag for Merlin and Kilgharrah).
