Everything is ready, there are only a few pre-flight checks to be done, more bureaucracy than anything else. The departure is set for tomorrow. I tried to ask around more information about the ship, but everyone simply replies that it's a surprise and that I will not be disappointed. I don't doubt it. At this point I'm fine even with a patched-up old freighter, like the ones that are recovered by the Quarians for the flotilla. Anything to get me away from the Nexus.

Addison and Tann are breathing down my neck. They want me to go on Eos, Habitat 1, the first of the "Golden Worlds" where they tried to found a colony, the one that looked most promising. Needless to say, it was a complete failure and now they hope - they claim - that I will somehow make it more habitable. By dint of examining the reports about the climate, the radiation saturating the atmosphere and the unpredictable sandstorms, the successes and failures of "Promise" and "Resilience", the first two outposts built on the surface, my eyes met and I started having visions. - Flash. Memories. Mine? My father's? - My biotic amp overloaded and, when I accidentally broke the cup in my hand with a biotic explosion, Addison and Tann "kindly" gave me a break.

So I took the opportunity to go down to the med bay to check on Scott. “No news is good news” according to an old Earth saying. There's been no significant changes in him, he's still unconscious, but stable. No signs of improvement, but no signs of worsening either. This is why it is a good news. Not to mention that they managed to extract it from the cryogenic capsule without causing further damage, fortunately.

I can't lose him too. That's all I have left. I miss him so much. I have too many things to tell him and I miss to hear his voice, which teases and teases me about everything, and gives advice even when not requested. I wish I could tell him that I saw mom again… even if it was just a memory of dad recorded by SAM and projected into my mind.

Seeing him like this hurts. He has always been the strongest and most determined, now he seems so weak and defenseless, lying on the bed in the infirmary. He was the real soldier between us, the one who wanted to follow dad's footsteps. I should have been there in his place, instead they woke me up first, just because I was born a minute ahead of him and so in fact I am the older sister. But that's not true, I've never felt this way - even if I like to tease him about it. I'm sure Scott would have been a better Pathfinder than I could ever be.

He wouldn't have a problem with dad's decision. On the contrary. I am sure he would have accepted it with pride and I am sure that even dad relied more on him. He never admitted it, but I know that between the two, Scott was his favorite. Oh - but I'm not offended by that, I much preferred mom's company! - indeed, this thing of having him in my head, of sharing his memories, of snooping in his personal cabin and between his messages and his notes - I don't feel very comfortable, it's ... almost embarrassing.

I do it just to understand, to learn. Because I stopped feeling sorry for myself. I've accepted it by now - there is still something extremely wrong with all of this, but I don't have time to waste.

Tomorrow we will set sail for the first mission into the unknown. Everyone has faith in me, even Liam and Cora have accepted my father's choice, and they will be by my side in this undertaking. They expect a lot from me - they, Addison and Tann, and everyone else in the Nexus - and it's time for me to look up too.

So, I'm actually playing Mass Effect Andromeda and I'm really interested in hearing your opinions about the game. Did you like it? Even if it is not as good as the main trilogy, you consider it a good game? Who did you romanced? I didn't find the Tempest crew interesting enough so I romanced Reyes Vidal xD

Ok, so I eventually gave up with this re-draw I was working on. So in the spirit of at least pretending I finished it, have this Vetra badge for your dash. This took christ knows how long in total, and is my most realistic looking piece yet.
