Vent Crawlers are medium-sized Cybertronian mechafauna that inhabit mountainous and volcanic regions. They use their blunt claws to rip through seams of ore in search of coal and other fossil fuels too "dirty" for other fauna to supplement meager energon resources. Waste emissions are expelled through the structures on their backs, which they also use as a smokescreen to blind attackers. Because of these traits, they swarm desolate areas in very high numbers and can sometimes be the only species present. In spite of their appearance, they are non-aggressive.
