“…I don’t understand, what do you MEAN they’re gone? All of them, at the same time? Just GONE?” ”It means they’re fucking AWOL. What ELSE do you want me to say? All axillaries, quadrants, even the Sagittals, all locations pinged back and report ZERO active Neutralizers, its a complete blackout.”
”Cameras, radio? What’s it look like outside then?!”
”THE FUCKING RAPTURE, GENIUS.”
”Wipe that from record. This next part too- all EOS units dispatched and are to recover lost ground. Boarder control isn’t going to notice shit till blood’s raining on their front porches. GET THEM OUT THERE NOW.”
‘Somewhere in Torukia…’

「Just like that new order for us sweepers to start babysitting the fucking runners, what a bore they all are.」
「Easier if we killed them now. They find so many novel ways to die in the field...」
「Easier if they kill them on arrival. What little “help” they’ve provided has done more harm than good.」
『Hahahahah…』

Genji was used to being the center of attention when he came to this arcade. It probably helped that he always made a show and had pretty much all the high scores on the machines. But today someone had managed to take the spotlight away from him. If he could call the apparent omnic a someone.
Genji found himself frowning as he constantly glanced over his shoulder to the cyborg, not knowing where it came from or why it had decided to come into HIS arcade, but he knew he wasn’t happy about it. He only stopped scowling for a moment as he heard the machine he’d been at ring out a “game over!”.
Genji hadn’t even realised how little attention he’d been paying to the game.... Perhaps he could afford to pay a little attention to this newcomer, but he didn’t have to admit that was doing. He simply moved to a much closer machine so that he could play and watch at the same time.

“Thanks for everything Dr. Shot.” The omnic pulled his shirt back on and glowed bright yellow. “Its been so nice to see you again.”
Dr. Teq Shot adjusted her glasses and smiled. “It’s always a pleasure my friend.” she put hand on his shoulder. “We gotta keep your mentality healthy so that you don’t glitch again.”
He nodded at that. “Yeah... Thank you for answering my calls.”
“It’s no problem Teiko. I gotta get moving now. Lot of research on my hands these days.” She grabbed her suitcase and turned for the door.
“Haha, tha’ts not new, but I’ll see you later Dr. Shot. Take care of yourself.”
It was a relief to see the omnic doing so well. It was a great sacrifice on her end to save the omnic from destruction. But the knowledge she gained from reprogramming him was all too much of a gift.
As she walked away from the apartment complex and into Los Angeles, she couldn’t help but reflect on her research. When she was just a teenager, she was able to get away with manipulating Omnics, but now Omnic rights were on the rise, and she couldn’t just take an empty shell of a robot to work on it anymore.
It was depressing really. She was happy that Omnics were gaining rights, but she was extremely conflicted considering she wanted to further understand the Omnic mind herself. Teiko had been a true success when it came to programming emotions, but thanks to the Shambali, she felt very challenged with the idea of Omnics having souls.
If only there was something that she could work with.
“I need a drink.” she groaned, rubbing her temple. Her eyes darted around and finally found a bar. It was one of those crazy night clubs with the neon lights and drugs being passed around to strangers. It was honestly better than going to some boring bar where her green hair would stick out, and she’d be hassled by perverts. The music wasn’t really going to help with her headache, but she welcomed it. Rather be focused on a headache than her confliction with omnics.
Dr. Shot made herself through the crowd and finally made it to the bar where she ordered a green apple martini.
One day her life would be calm she supposed. Maybe when she was dead. Being on the run for so many years made being in crowded places like this easy. But she was continuously lying to herself in thinking that the company that created Teiko would ever stop hunting her for stealing him. Especially with the secrets behind him in her mind.
There was a hand that slowly wrapped around her neck, making her tense up. The music buzzed in her ear until the assailant whispered in her ear. “Come with me and I won’t make a scene...”
Dr. Shot left money on the counter and turned away slowly as the hand left her neck, but held her shoulder firmly. He guided her into a dark hallway where many people were becoming more intimate than they should be in public. Probably a cause of the drugs and alcohol. The man shoved her against the wall, pushing his body against her so that they didn’t look suspicious.
“Wow, they went so far to hire Talon?” She grunted, glaring at the man.
“Well, with the knowledge you have sweetheart, you didn’t think they would let you go, now did you?”
Her eyes looked away and closed. Knowing that there was no running now. Might as well accept her fate.
