2. How far do you plan on pursuing academia?

obviously the field is super uhh problematic and competitive but at the moment i’m looking at career academia

49. What are your thoughts on Academia?

yeah it’s a fucked up field! corporatisation is the death of creative thought. here’s to eccentric academics. i’ve learnt more from oddball chaotic lecturers/tutors than any others. i have complicated thoughts on academia but i’m in it anyway. very iconic of me.

50. Strangest university tip you have?

don’t be afraid of solitude on campus. relish time to yourself - study in the library on your own sometimes, get yourself a coffee and sit with your own thoughts, take in your university’s outdoor spaces alone.

also get to know your toilets! there’s always good toilets and bad toilets on campus. it’s so useful to have a mental map of the ones that are nice, clean, and also usually quiet.
