physical media tips for adhd peeps
i don't know who is going back to the physical media game and needs to hear this but: you CAN get a 2 tb microsd card for $200 (and if you lose it, you're fucked) or you can get a 2tb external for 60-80 (or less) and then a few 128gb microsd cards (depending on your needs they range from $8-25) and a microsd card holder (another $8) and then you can:
1) not worry about losing ALL of your media on this tiny 1/2 inch card
2) sort your media (like mine is mostly music rn so i'll be able to have a "most played" and then a "deep cuts" and then a card just for the music i'm archiving and hope to listen to/distribute when the time comes
3) if you have a dap that has to upload your media each time you update it, you won't have to let 2 tb worth of audio upload each time
4) it's more difficult to lose an external just because it is bigger, but i do highly recommend using an online storage service that isn't linked to amazon, apple, google etc and backing things up there as well. remember, besides your own personal use, if everything ends up going dark, we need to be able to share and preserve this media for others
you don't have to be adhd to find this info helpful but that was why i came up with this solution. saving money was secondary but a nice bonus
