Fictionkin shouldn’t have to fight tooth and nail to be taken seriously
When I look in the mirror, I don't associate my face or body with myself. I just see a pretty or ugly vessel staring right back at me. Because my soul belongs else where.
I am not human, atleast not this one
FICTIONKIN SYMBOL SURVEY!
It seems like the fictionkin community is constantly trying to figure out what the "universal fictionkin symbol" should be. I've decided to give my best attempt at helping out with that by making a survey to gauge which symbol(s) for fictionkinity are the most popular, as well as what the fictionkin community would want to see in a "universal fictionkin symbol".
It is intended to be answered by fictionkin only, is entirely anonymous, and has a very short time demand (around 5-10 minutes). One answer per body, please!
The information gathered will be a part of my planned panel for Othercon 2023. There are a multitude of different proposed symbols for fict
This survey will run for a decent bit of time to try and make sure that a good sample size is collected. It will close on November 20th.
If you're fictionkin, I'd love to have your input! If you're not, you can still help out by sharing this around in fictionkin spaces. Thank you!
Sekinfluid
A term for when one is Kinfluid, but in a way where you are both your (kin)type and a separate entity at the same time. This term is intentionally broad and I will not gatekeep it. Any form of 'kin ( and others ) may use this to describe their experiences if they feel it fits !!
The term comes from combining the Latin prefix "Se-" ("apart") with kinfluid. If you prefer a different prefix to "kin" or wish to translate it you can replace that part ( ex. Sefictionfluid for one who is fictionkin and prefers the "fiction-" prefix, Sealterfluid for one who prefers the "alter-" prefix, etc. )
The colors and format of the flag come from combining this Kinfluid flag ( and it's symbol ) along with multiple of these 'kin flags and this specific Otherkin flag design ( for it's use of very pretty gradients on the symbols. )
Symbols are optional but here they are separate if you'd like to reposition them or use them elsewhere :

Sometimes I am consuming some kintype media and see one of my kintypes die there. It hurts; it should end the moment I am dead. I can't comprehend why it keeps going on too;
I made an Alternative Ockin Flag based on the one I just reblogged
So pretty I like it
First time doing IDs for flags so Idk if I’ll do it wrong
[ID: (up to down) stripe one is pastel red, stripe two is pastel orange, stripe three is pastel yellow, stripe four is pastel green, stripe five is pastel blue, stripe six is pastel purple. In the middle, there is a black circle, in which there lies a white, open half circle on the left, somewhat like the letter C, and a white, half otherkin symbol on the right.]
Here’s the Inspiration (I don't know who created it, if someone knows that would be helpful)
That one is not mine, the pastel one is the one I made
Definition:
Ockin is when your kintype is an oc. Oc can stand for Original Character, Original Creature, Original Concept, Original Classification, Original Component, etc. It is not limited to original character in this context. This is not a choice, but rather it is either developed or you’re born with it. Ockin falls under fictionkin and can be called such.
Differently but similar, oclink is the same but is a choice. Oclink falls under fictionlink.
Once again, THIS is the flag I made
I’m unsure where the idea of the black circle and white open semicircle came from, but my own interpretation is that the black circle is an “o” and the white is a “c”, representing the word “oc”
