Thoughts at 1am
it's been a struggle, both physically and mentally, dealing with these broken bones. At first I had the pain to distract me from the fact that all I can really do is sit around and watch everyone else enjoy their summer. It's a real pain in the ass. much more annoying than the cramps I get sitting on my air mattress. I've been in a terrible mood these past few days because I couldn't go to my orientation for MAIP or to Governors Ball with friends in NYC. I expect I'll be missing out on much more in the coming months. But there are some ups with the downs. I'm happy to have someone who's willing to miss half of a music festival just to sit around with me and play surgeon simulator and eat animal crackers. I'm happy that my grandma is enjoying taking care of me and has an excuse to cook EXCESSIVELY (and deliciously). I also very much appreciate having two incredibly caring friends in this city and in my life that feel part of my family whenever they visit. And I am greatful to my internship for their flexibility in accommodating their robo-intern with a later start date. Always gotta think about the positives when you're feeling down. But, as my g-ma would say, don't hold back your tears or else they will choke you. She's blunt. Feeling down is part of the process but it helps make the good moments stand out. Queso moment of the night
