theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette
New Post: theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette
I grabbed theBalm’s Meet Matt(e) Nude palette for a steal at Nordstrom Rack recently. It retails for $42, and I got it for $14.97. It also appears on Hautelook from time to time, so you can definitely get this for less than retail. About the Palette This palette contains nine matte eyeshadows. It’s cruelty-free but not vegan (carmine is one non-vegan ingredient I can identify on the packaging).…

Eye Shadow Palette Look 28 (theBalm)
I have been waiting to use this palette for an eyeshadow look for awhile now but I wanted to get a few out of the way since I use this palette for a lot of my fotds and things. It is the Meet Matt(e) palette from theBalm and it is one of my favorites. I wore this look today out to the big tourist mall and got some things that I will blog about next! Today's post is full face makeup since I was going out. Let's get started!
This is the palette I will be using today. It is the Meet Matt(e) matte eyeshaow palette from theBalm. It has 9 eyeshadow colors all with a matte finish, although some look to be a little satin.
I started by priming my face with Napoleon Perdis Autopilot face primer.
I mixed two foundations together and applied it with a big fluffy face brush. I did this because one is too light and one is too dark for my skin. I used L'Oreal True Match foundation in n1 Soft Ivory and Revlon Colorstay foundation in 150 Buff.
I concealed my under eyes and any blemishes with my Urban Decay 24/7 concealer pencil in CIA.
I set everything with my ELF Mineral Booster.
I contoured my face with Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil. I just used a fan brush for a softer contour.
I filled in my brows with my ELF Eyebrow Kit in Dark. I've been feeling out some different eyebrow shapes, trying to find one I really like.
I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original.
I took the color Matt Gallagher which is a warm brown and applied it to my crease and really blended it out. I also applied it under my eyes.
Then I took my most favorite color from this palette named Matt Patel and packed that all over the eyelid and into the crease and blended it out.
Then I went back with Matt Gallagher and put that in the space between my crease and browbone and blended it with the gray.
Next I took the color Matt Smith which is just a light nude color and applied that to my brow bone for a soft highlight.
I used the color Matt Chung with is a pale pink and applied it to my inner corners to highlight them.
I took the color Matt Batali and deepened up the crease and bit and blended it out.
Sticking with theBalm, I used their Schwing matte eyeliner to line my eyes. It's a very matte theBalmy day!
I took the color Matt Batali again and an angled brush and applied it to the outer half of my under eyes, staying close to the lash line.
I lined my waterline with my bareMinerals Round the Clock waterproof eyeliner in Midnight.
I curled my lashes and applied some false eyelashes. I used Red Cherry brand, not sure which pair.
I did a real soft and glowy cheek so I used the blush side of my ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in Blushed/Bronzed. It has a little sparkle and it's a really soft peachy pink color.
I applied mascara to blend my real lashes with the false ones and I also applied it to my bottom lashes. I used Rimmerl Sexy Curves mascara.
For my lips I started with a layer of Urban Decay Lip Envy stain in the color Greedy. I think this stain applies very unevenly and tends to stick to the outer parts of my lips making it look like lipliner.
So I topped it with one of my favorite lipsticks, Covergirl Lip Perfection lipstick in #335 Embrace. This is my go-to lipstick. I think the color looks great one me, the staying power is awesome, it goes on smoothly, I just love it.
(my lash glue was still drying in the last picture so DONT MIND ME)
The look is complete! I really liked the final result. I have never used the colors in this palette this way and I think it turned out nicely. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
FOTD: Interview #1
So this week I had two interviews. The one I went to using the look from this post is for the department-like store on base. The position is for just a general cashier. I wanted my makeup to look nice and professional but not boring. I used mostly matte colors on my eyes and a muted blush and lip color. Let's get started!
First of all, I woke up SUPER EARLY!! Earlier than I needed to but I was so nervous I couldn't fall asleep again. So this is my morning hatred look right here.
First I primed my entire face using That Gal Brightening Face Primer by Benefit. Then I took Stay Don't Stray also from Benefit and applied that under my eyes because I like to prime my under eyes so my concealer doesn't crease and because it has a tint to it that offers some light coverage.
I applied concealer under my eyes and blended it in. I used Urban Decay's 24/7 Concealer Pencil in the color CIA. Then I lightly applied BB cream on my entire face. I used Super BB by Skin 79. I ran out of it as well :(
I lightly set my face makeup with ELF Mineral Booster in the color Sheer.
I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original.
I filled in my brows with my ELF Brow Kit in the color Dark. I almost hit pan on the gel side!
I contoured my face with my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil matte bronzing powder.
First on my eyes I used my Meet Matt(e) from TheBalm. I used the color called Matt Patel in my crease which is my new ultimate favorite crease color. I also put some under my eyes.
Still using the Meet Matt(e) palette I took the color Matt Batali and deepened my crease with it. I blended the two colors together.
Using the color Hustle from the Naked palette, I filled in my outer corners and brought it slightly into the crease and blended. I forgot to take a picture for this step, but still using the color Naked also from this palette I lightly swept it across my lid.
Using the color Sassy from the Nude Tude palette from TheBalm I applied it to my inner corners.
I used my Makeup Forever Aqua Liner #13 Mat Black liquid liner to liner my eyes. I wanted to keep my wing not so dramatic to keep it on the professional end.
I set my liner with the color Serious from the Nude Tude palette. I also applied it under my eyes keeping it close to my lash line, then took a brush and smoked it out a little bit.
I took an angled brush and my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color Milk and applied it to my waterline. I used a very light amount so it didn't pop so much.
I didn't want to wear fake lashes because I didn't want it to be too much, so I just curled my lashes and applied some mascara. I used Maybelline's Illegal Length mascara.
Like I mentioned above, I used a muted blush color. I used this mineral blush from Jane #03 Rose Silk. I lightly swept it on my cheeks for just a nice wash of color.
On my lips I also wanted to use a nice natural color so I used Tarte LipSurgence lip tint in the color Enchanted.
The look is complete! It is a very simple look to achieve. I did jump around palettes a little but I'm sure you can make it work with only one of them. My interview did go well I'm pretty sure but I will find out for sure soon :) Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
