Mega ninetales
type: psycho / ghost

Description pokedex: Following the mega evolution, the pokemon-cursed souls all flow into its 9 gems, attracting to itself more spirits, dead and alive.
Notes of the creator: according to the description of the basic pokemon, the psychic power of ninetal arose from his red eyes. Mega evolved, that power intensifies, bringing the pokemon to lose its "earthly" form (fire type) and acquiring the psychic type.
According to legend, which states that it is the reincarnation of 9 saints, the tails lose corporeality, becoming 9 "fumes" with the 9 colors of the soul, giving space to the pokemon's spiritual sanctity.
The pearls "held" by the tails instead, represent the damned and cursed souls of the pokemon, vengeful against mistreatment, which reunited in the presence of the 9 saints (the tails) form its second source of power (type ghost). These souls in turn attract other damned souls to them, consequently increasing the power of the pokemon in an increasing and inexorable way ... So much so that even the souls of the living are at risk in the presence of this mega ninetales.
Trivia: The pokemon, mega evolving, loses almost all the attack points, which, however, are added to its special attack, taking it as a special attacker in the top of special pokemon.

Descrizione pokedex: In seguito alla mega evoluzione, le anime maledette dal pokemon confluiscono tutte nelle sue 9 gemme, attirando a se ulteriori spiriti, morti e vivi.
Note della creatrice: secondo la descrizione del pokemon base, il potere psichico di ninetale è scaturito di suoi occhi rossi. Mega evoluto, quel potere si intensifica, portando il pokemon a perdere la sua forma "terrena" (tipo fuoco) e acquisendo il tipo psico.
Secondo la leggenda, la quale afferma sia la reincarnazione di 9 santi, le code perdono corporeità, divenendo 9 "fumi" con i 9 colori dell'anima, dando spazio alla santità spirituale del pokemon.
Le perle "tenute" dalle code invece, rappresentano le anime dannate e maledette dal pokemon, vendicativo contro i maltrattamenti, che riunitesi al cospetto dei 9 santi (le code) formano la sua seconda fonte di potere (tipo spettro). Queste anime a loro volta, attirano a loro altre anime dannate, incrementando di conseguenza il potere del pokemon in maniera crescente ed inesorabile...Tanto che anche le anime dei vivi sono a rischio in presenza di questo mega ninetales.
Curiosità: Il pokemon, mega evolvendosi, perde quasi tutti i punti attacco, che però in compenso, vengono sommati al suo attacco speciale, portandolo come attaccante speciale nella top dei pokemon speciali.
Here's Mega Ninetales! So she is based off a Kitsune, now Kitsune are mischievous creatures who have the ability to shapeshift. Kitsune tend to look like humans so I decided to make her more humanoid and have this design embrace the inspiration for the pokemon rather than just giving her extra fur and bigger tails. I wanted this one to stand out from the others and I'm so proud of it!

Had a lot of fun with this one haha I’ve always wished Ninetales and Arcanine had megas, so I decided to start designing my own, with (kantonian) Ninetales first. Based even more on the Japanese Kitsune spirit than its original form!
I’ve already finished sketches of Mega Arcanine, so I’ll be coloring and posting those ASAP~

Mega Ninetales I drew in 2015 ^^
finally revamped mega ninetales uuughh. pretty simple, but i think it works?
(to those wondering why the older one on the bottom deviates more dramatically from regular ninetales’s design: it started life as a split evo for vulpix, “kitsami”, created yeeeears ago and well before megas were A Thing. i wanted to repurpose the general concept but hadn’t had time to make better-looking and more appropriate art, so it kinda sat up on my site for a year as an Extremely Janky Mega Ninetales and i am very glad it is going away now. i guess i did kind of like the “ghost tails”, but nah.)
next step: mega arcanine. which needs an even more drastic revamp, i.e., throw the old one out entirely and start over from scratch. uuuuuuuuuuuuuggghhhhh
