Cinderace/Mega Staraptor fusion!
Platinum was my first ever Pokémon game so Staraptor getting a Mega Evolution means so much to me. I love that they gave it the fighting type, those Close Combats are going to hit like a truck!
Pieces I drew for the Palentines Lear Big Bang… thank you for having me 🙂↕️ do check out @skitter-kitter and @ar-reality360 ‘s works for the event as well, these pieces were made for their fics!

Review mega staraptor?
Well, I'll say this much: Mega Staraptor looks cool, at least. I like the extra bulk it has, and the massive talons and black eyes give it a good intimidating presence, which is something I never thought I'd say about Staraptor.
However, my main issue with it is that it feels like they didn't have any real direction for it, resulting in them just adding Stuff(TM) to the design. And don't get me wrong: not every design has to have a specific concept behind it, and just changing things is sometimes enough. But I feel like Mega Staraptor doesn't actually improve or even expand upon regular Staraptor's design apart from the aforementioned intimidation thing, which drags it down.
In fact, I think it actually makes Staraptor's design worse, as it's much more cluttered and less coherent than Staraptor's. Take the colors: the grays are nice, but the yellow accents feel random as there was no yellow in its palette to begin with. Why not make those red? It's not like they were trying to keep the focus on its ahoge, because they did add red—to its neck and no where else. Also, I feel like this was a missed opportunity to make the beak and legs dark gray, which would've drawn even more attention to the red. Something like this, maybe:
There are also a lot of arbitrary decisions made; like, they kept the white circle even though it's just barely visible under the ahoge, there's now feathers flipping up over the back of the ahoge, it effectively has two tails (one normal and one forming a "coat tail" over top of it) which results in both competing with each other because they're almost the same size, the unnecessary black stripe on the beak that adds nothing, and so on. So basically, it's not the worst by a long shot; but it is cluttered and lacks either a clear theme or clear visual direction.
(Also, I'm not complaining, but why does it gain fighting as a type?)
Best Mega Evolution Tournament- Round 1: Match 5
Mega Staraptor vs Mega Steelix
Mega Staraptor
Mega Steelix
After every match so far has featured a Legendary or Mythical, we finally have a match with both contestants on an even playing field!
Mega Staraptor was the bit of new life breathed into a fan favourite Pokémon after over 15 years since it was introduced! The Mega Dimension DLC brought us a new part Fighting type mega evolution of Sinnoh's regional bird, and it's a tough Pokémon indeed! With most of its new stat points actually going towards beefing up its defenses, it's now able to withstand more punishment before firing back with its big Attack stat! Mega Staraptor is also a very capable flier, with its Pokédex entry in Legends Z-A mentioning- funnily enough- that it's capable of soaring through the air while carrying a 880lb Steelix! With Staraptor having accompanied many of us in adventures through Sinnoh, I'm sure Mega Staraptor has some fans- but does it have enough to win?
And in the other corner is Mega Steelix! The tallest of all Steel and Ground type Pokémon, this beast of a Mega has the joint highest Defense stat in the game, only beaten by Eternamax Eternatus. Part of its incredible Defense comes from the peeled off pieces of armour that swirl around its body, controlled by magnetic power and blocking hits as Mega Steelix manipulates them. Additionally, the mega evolution energy fuelling Mega Steelix crystalises, becoming able to withstand any temperature and tougher than any natural mineral! It pushes through any attack, and lashes out at its foes, no matter what comes its way! Both an unstoppable force and an immovable object, can Mega Steelix hold firm in this tournament too?
