This is a strange world we live in, isn’t it.
Well, that we write in, at least, reaching into it with digital ink and occasionally purple words, slashing into existence characters and scenarios for the hell of it. It’s a world that never quite knows where it should fall, between fantasy and realism, of modern cities and wide untouched forests, where technology is so advanced as to being indistinguishable from magic - but is it really different at all to begin with?
A strange, curious world, whose tenuous barriers an old muse of mine would have exhamined with interest (and maybe she still does - I never quite know how she works, that one); one where the impossible can and does happen with special consistency.
Which is why I am not going to bother with the details on this one. I will point out the one thing I know - it is a forest, not terribly far away from Lake Verity. But where - or, to be precise, when? Who is the intruder into the other’s time?
It might be Anna, indeed, as she treks slowly, taking in the sounds and smells and colors like a kind of white noise drowning her thoughts. She almost actively doesn’t think (no thoughts, head empty) and lets her feet carry her wherever they want. Though they might have brought her to thoroughly farther ends than she might have imagined.
"how about we skip the 100 question interview from ingo" wink wonk
“ let’s skip right to the end, my frrrrriend, ” dropkicks him in the face.
@megalomanis
“And why, pray tell, do you think that would be? I’m dying to know.”
@megalomanis asked : " why is this so important to you ? "
“ it’s not just me, ” professor assured, though words trailing into silence may have betrayed him. he recovered quickly, offering wide, genuine smile to volo. “ if, through research && cataloguing, i can help show people they CAN live safely && happily alongside pokémon . . . how could i not devote my efforts towards that? we all share this world, after all! the more we understand one another, the easier a time we’ll have coexisting! ” right? RIGHT? “ at least, that’s what i’d like to imagine. ”
Thanks Lucian, now Giratina has to take all the Volo's and put them in a Get Along shirt.
@megalomanis @fairymint
alright who up getting in the giratina get along shirt
yellow (surprisingly not white/black), a hummingbird (namely due to its speedy wings and how unnatural it looks when it stops flapping them), abandoned and overgrown subway stations, everything is fine by Qbomb, and this but the dog is ingo
WHAT AESTHETICS DO YOU ASSOCIATE MY MUSE WITH?
I LOVE ALL OF THESE SO MUCH. the hummingbird one is my favorite, i never would’ve thought about it but it makes so much sense.
Bruise - Find my muse badly beaten up.
he'd played the scenario in his head hundreds and hundreds of times. the moment of finally reuniting with his brother, sharing that familiar, warm embrace, looking back at his twin with tear-clouded eyes. you're back. we're together again. and after that, everything would go back to normal. they would settle into their comfortable, safe routines again. continue to live in their private little world where other people didn't matter.
why, why, why, why.
the anger shoots through him like a wildfire, burning every sensible thought in its path as his fist collides with the stranger's face. again, and again. emmet doesn't know him. he can smell the liquor in his breath. he knows those horrible words he'd said about ingo had been laced with intoxication. he's glad that his brother is not there to hold him back. emmet had promised to take care of all the night shifts until he fully recovered. at this hour, the station is empty. he doesn't stop. can't bring himself to stop. not even when the man retaliates and lands a few painful hits back.
archeops and eelektross are the ones to step in between, freeing themselves from their pokéballs out of pure concern for their trainer. emmet stares down at the splatters of blood on his shirt and coat, his hands trembling, still curled tight into fists. every quickened breath feels forced, a cough bringing more of the taste of blood onto his tongue.
the man is long gone, thrown out of the station by the time emmet finally seems to fully return to himself. there's a slight limp in his step as he makes his way to the main doors, stepping outside to take in a shaky breath of the night air as he lights up a cigarette.
he notices that familiar face from the corner of his eye, feeling the remnants of that rage flaring through his nerves again. the smile on his face twitches momentarily. “ i'm verrrrrry much on edge now. so kindly remove yourself. or i'll make this your final stop. ”
