Honestly I've barely opened this app in years, I just can't pretend existing on meta platforms isn't destroying my mental health, anymore 😅
I never was particularly Tumblr literate, but going forward this might work for my "I have nothing to do with this emotion but write it down and post into the void/for my 5 or 6 dedicated followers keeping tabs on my odds of survival" purposes.
So if you're already familiar with me from FB or IRL or wherever - I'm still figuring out where my art goes (probably some combo of here and bluesky or kofi), but you can probably expect to see more of me on Tumblr.
Also here are my two paintings of this year so far - my traditional new year's painting/spell, titled Yáotl- a prayer for the Death of the West, and for all of us on the bottom to reclaim the life that was stolen from us. Processing a lot of my feelings around trauma, skill regression, and feeling overall diminished by the last few years. I feel so much less than the person I was before everything went to shit. But I am using that pain and grief: if I must feel dead inside, let me be a hungering phantom, lunging to reclaim myself from the cruelty of the world.
I also have a so-far untitled painting that is very rich in Personal Lore - it's a eulogy to a former self/commemoration of a spiritual death - the self that died in the trauma I mention above.
Accompanying tracks are in order - I usually have a song or two in mind for each painting.
Fossil big cats continue to feature heavily in my spirituality and artistic symbolism, shocking no one

Paleolithic Huntress and Her Pet
A Paleolithic huntress in Pleistocene Africa is showing some affection to her tame saber-toothed Megantereon. Humans may never have been able to fully domesticate any saber-toothed cats as far as we know, but I can still see some adopting cubs and raising them to be hunting companions. It would be like how people have trained lions and tigers to perform tricks in historical circuses.
