All seems well until Orion Pax joins forces with Megatron, bringing along a talented but feckless specialist who could use a little guidance...and things get complicated.

Megatron and alternate Trailcutter cross paths while the Functionalists are being overthrown. Trailcutter and the other outliers are living proof that the Functionalist ideology is wrong, and he wants to protect them - Trailcutter especially. Together, they build that school that becomes a sanctuary for outliers, where they can hone their abilities. Megs and Teebs spend time discussing ideas, philosophies, and ethics- and poetry too. Megatron makes a point to tell Trailcutter that his powers are special and useful, but also that they don't necessarily define who he is. In becoming friends, they make progress towards peace.
