"J-Jack? I think something's wrong with Arthur. I don't know where you are or what to do... Please come home,"
He got the message and it wasn’t four minutes until he was by Meg’s side, eyes wide and worried.
"Meg?"

"Meg?"
"Your mother doesn't like me, or Arthur."
Jack whirled, eyes wide as he stared at Meg.
“What?”
Meg-Just-Meg
It was much to Ultana's surprise to find that she had a guest. The servants had long ago begun to refrain turning people away from the castle doors, knowing that if they did the lady of the house would not be pleased. Nevertheless, it was late, and Ultana had not been expecting to find anyone down in the kitchens.
It was her habit to go down there in order to think when she could not sleep. it was well away from her husband and usually vacant at this time of night, but now she found it occupied by a young woman evidently left to her own devices.
She leaned against the doorway, fingertips resting on the grain of the solid oak door, regarding the other curiously- perhaps a little warily.
"Left you on your own, did they?"
Meg wasn't good at consoling people, she didn't know how to do it very well. But from the look on Jack's face it was obvious something had happened. After she had put Arthur to bed she simply took his hand pressing a small kiss to his temple to show that she was there. That everything was alright.
Jack sat there, blinking back tears. He didn’t even register that Meg was in the room until, then- her lips were on his temple. His arm wrapped around her shoulder and he pulled her close, burying his face in her curls and swallowing the knot in his throat.
