You’re accepting the possibility that you’ll regret taking this path, almost as if you’re framing it as a calculated risk. But to me, that seems a shade of cowardice; it’s like you’re choosing the regret in advance, rather than it being an unintended consequence. You choose the decision that doesn’t fear and makes you comfort. A calculated risk means understanding the potential outcomes and confidently owning your choice, saying, “I won’t regret this—it’s the life I want.” Knowing you’ll regret it and still going forward, though, feels like a dumb decision. A man would walk only the road he’s sure he won’t regret, no matter the risk. That’s what defines a man. And that’s the man I like.
