I’ve not posted in a long long time and I promise I haven’t forgotten about this app 😭

Exam season in the UK is just about to start so I’m currently focusing on knocking these exams out of the park so I can get back to talking about the Lincoln Rhyme books aksjdka (and Gabriel Lake and Melissa Bloch <3)

Give me 2 months and I’ll be back to waffling 😭🙏

Here are little things that I picked up on during my re-read :)

Head cannons on their hobbies/skills <3

Lincoln <3

* I swear Lincoln says that he did track as a teenager so I like to think he carried it on into his adult life before the accident

* He plays a lot of chess (Thom encourages him to join a chess club but Lincoln flat out refuses to)

* He listens to any type of music without lyrics a lot

* He does a lot of research and writes books/papers on it

Amelia <3

* She shoots competitively

* She obviously drives around a lot but she also probably fixes up old cars in her spare time :)

* She probably works out a lot and likes to go on long runs

* She hangs out with Pam a lot and goes shopping or to the movies with her

Thom <3

* Baker/chef of the year

* Fencing like the posh boy he is

* I feel like I remember you saying that he also swam in high school and I love that idea <3

* He sews and knits a lot - he’s normally tailoring/fixing up his friends clothes or making them new ones. He definitely knits sweaters for Lincoln and Peter <3

* - I also had a thought last night that he knits things for people in hospitals and drops them off when he gets chance after having seen how depressing being in hospital can be

* He reads when he gets chance (he talks about books with Geneva) - he’s probably a fantasy/romance guy because he gets way too much crime with Lincoln akdjsk

* He also hangs out with Pam a lot

Peter <3

* I head cannon Peter to be a movie fanatic so he watches movies a lot (basically every day) and takes Thom to the cinema when he can

* He also reads a lot but he’s probably read non-fiction

* Does gazing lovingly at Thom every chance he gets count as a hobby?

* I don’t know why but I can see Peter doing stuff like flower arranging or something - it just gives me Peter vibes

* Peter can draw really well and sometimes he’ll sell his artwork - a lot of the time he gives it to Thom <3

Mel <3

* Ballroom dancing king

* He also does skeet shooting and wine making with Greta - they are so in love it hurts my heart

* He flies drones and I think he’s awesome for it

* Mel is such a nerd so I can see him having a really nerdy hobby like D&D or something

* He reads so much - he can get through books crazy fast

* Mel likes going for hikes/walks in nature - usually with Greta and his dog (who I think would be called Laika). He finds it therapeutic

* Also, Mel listens to emo music. He just really likes it

Lon <3

* In the twelfth card, Lon makes a reference to doing carpentry. If he was being sarcastic, I don’t care because carpentry sounds like a very Lon hobby

* - woodcarving would also be a very Lon hobby in my opinion

* You can’t tell me Lon is not the type of guy to go fishing

Ron <3

* Gardening <3 I’m pretty sure that in one of the books it says that he gardens

* I also think he’s do photography - he takes so many photos of his wife it’s unreal

* I’m pretty sure he has a dog? He takes the dog on runs with him - even after his head injury he’d never forget to take him out <3

* He used to ride motorbikes but gave it up when he had kids - he fixes them up with his brother sometimes

Roland <3

* Roland also shoots competitively - I think this is cannon

* Roland goes camping a lot and takes his sons

* He brews his own beers in his basement because it just seems like something he’d do

* He probably used to ride horses as a kid

* I can see him doing boxing or some type of martial art

Also I was watching Barbie and this reminded me of Thom and Peter aksjdka

Peter: what am I supposed to do?

Thom: Peter! Go for a walk or something.

Peter: by myself?

Thom: yes.

Peter: really? Where?

Thom: anywhere.

Peter: can I go that way?

Thom: yes. Okay.

Thom: don’t go far.

It’s 1:15am and I would like to present to you my headacannon (+reasoning) that Mel Cooper is disabled in some way.

In the Bone Collector, Lincoln asks how his mum is. Mel responds by saying ‘Still complaining about every ache and pain. Still healthier than me.’

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, MELVIN?

Is this him making a joke? Most likely. But I got an 8 in English literature so I will not let this slide.

I feel like if he were to have a disability, it would probably be something to do with his joints and his back because of how long he spends hunched over equipment.

I looked it up and ballroom dancing can cause joint deterioration, especially in the ankles, knees and hips so he might have arthritis or something
