Mel had been looking forward to getting home, it had been a long and stressful day at work and all she wanted to do was unwind with Seto and relax for the rest of the night. Her mind elsewhere as she left the office and started home.

She should have paid attention to her surroundings. She would have seen the man following her sooner, but it was too late.

She had been about to text Seto when she felt the hand grab her, with a cry of surprise she was dragged into an alley. She struggled and hit her attacker as hard as she could but he was much bigger than her, she managed a scream, hoping someone would hear her but then felt a fist clock her, snapping her head back against the brick wall, her glasses breaking  from the hit and momentarily knocking her out.

She awoke to hearing Seto screaming,she was slumped on the ground, her head pounding in pain, her left eye swollen shut. “S-Seto..” She mumbled, dazed. She could hear sirens in the distance, someone must have heard the commotion and called the police.

“Ma’am please calm down!” Mel yelped. cringing hard as she was being yelled at. “I-It was the security system! Something tripped it is all! We have it under control!”

“Where’s the library in this place?” Mel muttered under her breath as she walked down the hall, she hated being a new recruit. All the tedious jobs were left to her and the others like herself. She huffed as she shifted the stack of books she was carrying, blinking as they suddenly tumbled and fell to the ground, scattering. “Damn it!” She cursed as she knelt to pick them up.
