Inktober 2025 no.5 - “Deer” 🦌 

Based on some photos I took of Fallow Deer at a local deer park where you could actually feed them. Looking at these two, I couldn’t help but think of Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell.

he is inspired by melanistic mule deer

its mushrooms are based on fairy bonnet mushrooms

Whimsy is a bright-eyed, big-eared deer, distracted by every sound and flash of movement. She will believe anything and follow anyone anywhere, into a myriad of daydreams, dancing in the dappled light. But every once in a while, they have to wake up.

Vae is one of a mismatched herd of eight mushroom deer that become protectors of an ethereal realm.

An incredibly rare black fallow deer, also known as melanistic or melanic deer, has been spotted in the forests of Poland.

- a resultant of melanism, a recessive inherited genetic trait, that causes an excess of dark pigment on the skin.
