Dale Jennings, and Part Three of a Newsreader celestial tour 💙🌟📡📺

My family and I enjoyed our afternoon strolling through the Royal Botanic Gardens of Victoria on our Melbourne holiday in November 2025. After a couple of days of motels and driving through concrete jungles, it felt good to ‘touch grass’ and enjoy being outside in the warmth of late spring.
The Observatory had more treats for us aside from its Newsreader connection; quite literally, in fact! On site was a visitor centre, the gardens’ souvenir shop, as well as The Observatory Kiosk, which I shouted my family to delicious gelatos and drinks from.
A short walk away was the Rose Pavilion, which I was also desperate to see. It appeared in the background of the scene in which Dale interviews elderly sisters Ruth and Avis about their memories of the 1910 Halley’s Comet passing, as well as when Ross and Tim made some cheeky remarks regarding Dale’s position in the cutlery drawer 😉
It was super exciting being at the Rose Pavilion, and to our delight, a photographer and some beautiful models were getting ready to do a photo shoot to advertise gorgeous flowy dresses. The ladies looked absolutely magical, and were smiling ear to ear as Mum and I complimented them.
We walked just that little bit further to scale one side of the Ornamental Lake, before our tired legs told us that we needed to start heading back to the car; oh, and my parking meter too, which I was keeping an eye on.
Thank you to The Newsreader for introducing these Botanic Gardens and Observatory to this New South Wales gal. I hope to come back someday soon! 💙🌟📡📺
