P, S, W, and X for the shipping ask thing!
P (invent a random AU for any fandom): hockey rpf rowing AU. each team has at least an 8 boat (and like, obviously a 4 or two, maybe some pairs or singles). ovechkin is in the bitch niche (7 seat). backstrom’s the stroke, mostly bc it would be fucking hilarious. or he’s six because of the ability to soak up ovi’s bullshit. if not backy, then a d-man would be six, because of the pairing with holts. HOLTBY IS FIVE as any goalie should be tbh. four and three are wilson and burky because they are the ones least capable at dealing with life, as are three and four. oshie’d be 2 seat. carlson’s bow seat. and i think latts is the cox, because imagine latts being salty about catching stroke’s spray, and how choppy the ride is. when he gets chosen to be cox he’s all ‘why am i the cox, huh? is it because i’m too small? what’re you trying to say?’
and it’s practically law that sixes and sevens are made for each other. and that your pair mate is yours for as long as you both shall row.
(ovi and backy totally rowed a pair together at one point. they tipped over a lot, as all pairs do)
(in the space of 5 seconds i have become incredibly dedicated to this au)
S (show us an example of your personal headcanon): where do i even START. so i’ve been thinking a lot about paul martin and beau bennett (as one does). and paulie’s a caretaker, of course. but he’s not overbearing about it. like he’ll wait until beau asks for help (or puts himself in danger) to be like ‘yeah i cook too much food come over some time’. and when beau doesn’t take him up on it right away, he’s not gonna push it. but then he’s ecstatic when beau finally does come over and let paulie take care of him. and then beau actually lets himself be taken care of, lets paulie go the extra little bit to care for him and everything.
W (a trope that you are almost certain to hate in any fandom): there are very few tropes that i hate. there are some that i hate but i love at the same time. like anything that has to do with coercion (so, non-con, and some dub-con) i hate hate hate but sometimes i’m in that mood where i’m like YES. but it has to be shown as bad, and not the right thing to do, otherwise i nope right out of there.
X (a trope that you are almost certain to love in any fandom): fake dating, both of them pining for each other but they don’t know the other one likes them and they have to start pretending to date for reasons and then they get to the end of it and it becomes ‘okay i’m sad but…okay’ and one can’t let them go and they’re both sad. YUP. another variant is the ‘i didn’t know we were dating’ i LOVE IT
