November 1943 - after returning from Italy, Colonel Phillips decided to place Captain America and his newly formed elite squad, 'The Howling Commandos' as they have named themselves, with 101st Airborne Infantry to train while the SSR gather their intelligence on HYDRA bases scattered across Europe.

Bucky Barnes is a mess from spending time on Arnim Zola's torture table and Steve is beside himself with worry. Little do they realise that all it takes to bring them both around is one young medic from Louisiana.

~ A Band of Brothers/Captain America fic that follows Steve, Bucky, and Gene through the war from November 1943 to February 1945 and beyond. Through training and combat and weekend Liberty passes, from beginning to end, it follows their story.

Not in a mean way, more like: everyone else is going to see those photos and want him, but he’s mine, all that beauty and power is mine, because he chooses to be, now let’s demonstrate that so it’s incontrovertible. :D :D

(and thanks! it seems to be more or less resolved—never heard anything back from AO3, but Person did list me as an inspiration AND finally add the link to my fic, which was basically the result I was hoping for [well, okay, to be bluntly honest, I wish the whole thing didn’t exist, BUT I am trying to be generous about it and I DO believe Person wasn’t being malicious, just over-excited and thoughtless, so, okay, I support fans being excited about things]  so I think we’re just gonna leave it there and move on. *sigh*)

That’s it. I’m buying red glitter tonight after I run. I WILL have a Winter’s Christmas Tree. XD

The only thing that would make my Commie Christmas Tree better would be silver and black tinsel, which I'm totally going to have to buy this week, jfc.

I didn't even ask him for a red one! He did that all on his own!

He knows me well and doesn't even try to discourage my geekiness.

I'm pretty buzzed, I'll admit!

Like I say, as long as I can get comfortably back into my true vintage purple 1950s dress without busting the seams, I'll be happy! Currently sitting at 160 and my lowest was 145 when I got married last year so if I get to 150 its all gravy, baby.
