Paramedic work is a very exhausting one, and it takes a lot from anyone trying to pursue it.
Josuke put a lot of effort to get into the field, and he's well-loved in the community. He is known for his resilience and emotional strength, constantly doing long hours and taking extra shifts on the busy seasons to ensure everyone's safety.
It's because of that same reason, the ungodly and debilitating hours, that you sometimes have him knocked out in bed at four in the afternoon, his broad, warm body snuggled up next to you when you decide to join him after your lunch for a quick nap.
A quick 15-minute nap turns into an-hour nap, lured back into sleep by the warm comfort of Josuke next to you. He's so tired, you can feel it the way his chest rumbles with just-there little snores, and how heavy his arm feels laid across your torso. Every once in a while, he will move a couple of inches, only to pull you even closer than you'd think possible, mumbling nonsense that gets quieted down by his lips on the top of your head.
He is the cutest when he sleeps (and, truly, when he's awake, dancing, or cooking, or chatting, or in silence—)
But, you need to get on with your day. There are tasks to attend to, and you cannot keep missing out on daylight to sleep with your boyfriend, no matter how much you'd like to.
So, you gently extricate yourself from his tight hold, trying your best not to disturb his sleep as you sit on the edge of the bed, taking a second to gaze at his closed eyes, at his parted lips, at his slowly rising chest.
He's beautiful.
His eyelids flutter, and he sighs. You tense up, trying to stay still to see if he goes back to sleeping, but he blinks his eyes open, taking a second to focus them on you.
His face softens as he takes you in, and he smiles, reaching out towards your hand to hold it into his, tugging slightly.
"Don't go yet" Josuke whispers, still more sleep than man "Let me hold you for a moment?"
It doesn't take you much time at all to weigh the pros and cons, and you slip right back into his hold, accepting that you will simply have to stay with the love of your life for a little while longer.
