November 17th 1938. He is a Magizoologist and was a Ravenclaw during his school days. His father works for the ministry and his mother is a healer for magical creatures and grew up with his siblings in Ireland in an environment where his father ensured Garrett and his siblings wouldn't feel the societal stresses he did.

Mother: Olivia Gladys

Tremblay (née Hearst) was born on May 8th 1939. She is a Herbologist and was a Hufflepuff during her school days. She came from a traditional pure blood family and struggled with living up to her parents' expectations for her.

Rather than going through with the various suitors, she stayed true to heart and married her Hogwarts sweetheart, Garrett. After marrying him, she moved to Ireland where they raised their children in a similar mindset to the one Garrett was raised in.

Sister: Renée Clarisse

Tremblay she was born on July 2nd 1967 and was a member of Ravenclaw House.

Renée follows in her father's footsteps and becomes a Magizoologist.

When Helena, her brother (Miles), and her cousin (Melody) came to Hogwarts, Renée was a seventh year student and helped the three get adjusted to Hogwarts. In 1988, she married her Hogwarts sweetheart, Kai Westland who she along with her father, encouraged him into a career centered around magical creatures.

The couple went on to have two children named Antoinette and Odette

Brother: Miles Tremblay was born on February 23rd 1973 and is Helena's twin brother who is younger than her by a few minutes. While he has a passion for herbology like her and is a chaser for his quidditch

team, he is a Hufflepuff.

Like Helena, he helped his

cousin with facing the cursed vaults and entered

two of them. After

Hogwarts, he ended up married to his classmate Ismelda Murk and they have three children named Nolly, Monty, and Meredith. Additionally, to everyone's surprise he ended up being the heir to their maternal family with him officially becoming the head of the family when his grandfather passed away in 2008.

Rowan Khanna: Outside of herbology, another hobby of Helena's was reading which helped her bond with Rowan. The two developed a friendship with Helena going to Rowan for book recommendations. They both also shared a love for nature with Rowan growing up on a tree farm and Helena growing up on a vast amount of land dedicated to magical creatures and plants. The two also shared a friendly academic rivalry with both being considered for the prefect and head girl positions yet ultimately, Rowan became the Ravenclaw prefect and Helena became the head girl

Badeea Ali: Similar to Rowan, Helena also quickly befriended another one of her fellow Ravenclaws, Badeea Ali, being fascinated by her paintings. Helena would accompany Badeea often when she was painting outside, also participating herself and enjoying when Badeea gave her painting. It was also through Badeea that Helena gained a passion for stargazing as they'd go out to look at the stars, this hobby also benefited Helena's marks in Astronomy class.

Andre Egwu: Helena knew

Andre since she was young because her cousin

Melody's father, Jonathan Midway, was good friends with Andre's father, Caspar Egwu. Helena was thrilled to have him as her fellow Ravenclaw and even more so when he also made the quidditch team as Ravenclaw's keeper. He was one of the first people to notice that Erika was more than what the rumors made most people interpret her as and alongside Helena, he also got to know her.

Andre was also one of the first people to sense Helena had a crush on and encourages them to start dating and for Helena to continue to express her true self and be happy

Love Interests

Barnaby Lee: Helena was initially hesitant when she was paired up with Barnaby Lee for a Care of Magical Creatures Assignment at the beginning of her third year. This was primarily because of how he was basically in a trio with Ismelda and Merula. Yet the more she got to know him, the more she realized he wasn’t a bad guy and just needed to be in the right circle. The two bonded over creatures with Helena encouraging his passion and even organizing a meeting between him and her father who is a Professional Magizoologist. They dated for about a year or so before Helena decided that it was better if they just be friends after she tried to determine who she was and what she wanted. And while she enjoyed spending time with Barnaby, she felt he wasn’t right for her in the long term.

Erika Rath: Helena got to know Erika through Andre, particularly when they worked to prove that Erika wasn’t behind the stolen broom that Skye accused her of. Helena admired Erika’s confidence and how there was more to Erika outside of the rumors and other details people said about her. While she wasn’t a beater, Erika had allowed her to join in with her trainings regardless and the two developed a friendship. It was through Andre’s encouragement that Helena confessed her feelings to Erika and they began dating. They would remain close during their Hogwarts years with Erika being one of the members of Circle of Cursebreakers who freed Helena from R headquarters. As adults, they worked to find a balance between Helena’s career as a herbologist and Erika’s career as a beater for the Holyhead Harpies.

Roommates

Badeea Ali: Reference the friends section

Clodagh Dromgoole: Clodagh was the last of the Ravenclaw girls that Helena met because she was not there on the first day due to the sudden death of her father in a motorcycle accident. Additionally, she kept to herself and struggled with making friends before ultimately opening up to Helena and Rowan in particular. The three of them all take Ancient Runes as an elective and could be found studying together. Additionally, Helena and Clodagh also bond over their Irish heritage.

Tulip Karasu: Helena was not as close with Tulip compared to her other roommates. She typically surrounds herself with people with more calm demeanors and isn’t a big fan of the type of chaos Tulip is known for. However they do start growing a bit closer in third year where Helena helped Tulip find Dennis after he escaped the castle on a rainy day and in fourth year when Helena’s brother started dating Tulip.

Rowan Khanna: Reference the friends section

Melody Midway: Born on

April 21st 1973, Melody is Helena's cousin and one of her closest and longest friends. When Melody's brother goes missing after getting expelled, Helena is determined to support her and help her navigate the cursed vaults. In their dorm room, they shared a bunk bed with Helena having the bottom bed and Melody having the top one. The two also play quidditch together with Helena being a chaser and Melody being a seeker.

During their seventh year, the two practically rule Ravenclaw with Helena as the head girl and Melody as the quidditch captain

Enemies

Merula Snyde: Helena was quick to have a sour opinion on Merula after she decided to mess with her and her cousin by trapping them in a room with a devil's snare that fueled Helena's claustrophobia. Helena remained annoyed and unimpressed by Merula's claims of greatness throughout their time at

Hogwarts and refused to

believe the rumors Merula

would spread about Jackie

in order to taunt Melody

Patricia Rakepick: While acknowledging concerns, Helena did admit that it

was nice to have someone who could actually teach

Defense Against the Dark Arts and assist with the cursed vaults. Yet Helena quickly saw Rakepick's true colors when she betrayed the portrait vault crew and cast crucio on Melody. This hatred only deepened further when Helena discovered it was Rakepick who murdered her aunt in the Forbidden Forest

Kazuhiro Shiratori: The Wizard in the White Robes, or also known by his real name of Kazuhiro Shiratori was a member of R and the one who kidnapped Helena and brought her to R under the orders of Mariam Ellington. This was an event that traumutized her in the moment and in its aftermath.

Mariam Ellington: Not only is Mariam Ellington the leader of the British Branch of R, but she is also the grandmother of her cousin, Melody Midway.

The further she gets into the cursed vaults, the more conflict she runs into with her. This gets to a peak when Helena is forced to stay within the halls of R headquarters as their captive with Mariam being very strict with her and even using Legilimency on her against her will to learn more about what the Circle of Cursebreakers is planning

Future

Wife: Erika Rath

Adoptive Son: Rexton 'Rex' Tremblay-Rath was born on November 2nd 1996 and adopted by Helena and Erika in 2002 alongside his baby sister. He did not like the idea of being adopted since he assumed his new parents would eventually abandon him and his sister just like their mother did. Helena attempted to get close to Rex but it was actually Erika who got to an understanding with him first through his fascination with quidditch and at the idea of becoming a beater like Erika. However, unlike her and Helena, Rex becomes a member of Hufflepuff House and despite his stubborn, protective, and cold personality, finds close friends in the form of Elma Truell and Genna Raleigh.

Adoptive Daughter: Haruka

'Ru' Tremblay Rath was born on January 17th 2002

and alongside her older brother, was adopted by Helena and Erika in 2002. Helena accompanied Melody and Orion in the early 2000s to volunteer at an orphanage known as Wotton Manor where she typically worked with the infants and toddlers. It was here where she first met Ru who was quickly attached to her much to Rex’s initial distaste. Ru follows in Helena’s footsteps and becomes a Ravenclaw with the intentions of becoming a herbologist after graduation. In addition to spending a semester at Mahoutokoro to learn more about her biological mother and that side of the family, she also dates a confident and musical Gryffindor in her year named Yevhen Clenovych

Fun Facts

Helena's middle name comes from Georgiana Wotton, her mother's great aunt through marriage to Gladys Hearst and a mentor figure to her mother

Encouraged by Ravenclaw Chaser and Mentor Finley Barrington, Helena started dying her hair dark blue at the start of her third year she kept doing this up to the her imprisonment in R where the magical dye wore out during her time there. And while Helena played with partially dying her hair after that, she never fully dyed it again

14. What does your oc's voice sound like and what is their accent like?

Melody's voice is crisp and ringing. She tends to talk rather loudly but not fast, although as a child she did practise saying a hundred words in a second. Ironically, there's nothing truly melodic about her voice, so Melody sings rarely and mostly while being alone.

I'm not knowledgeable about the accents of English, so I can only assume that Melody's is the accent characteristic of Nottinghamshire where she comes from.

15. What are some things your OC has taught themself over the years?

Melody taught herself patience. Her mother describes impulsiveness as the trait that the majority of Midways possess, so no wonder that Melody fully inherited it from her father. Her hot head happened to place her in difficult and uncomfortable situations, so Melody needed to learn to be more cold-blooded and careful with words, especially amidst the mess that the Cursed Vaults created. She still did let her emotions guide her at times, yet more often than not she could control her irritation or anger and react in a more restrained manner, as well as acknowledge her fault and even apologize, something she was too stubborn to do when she was younger.

Also, I like to think that Melody taught herself to be a mother, not without Orion's help. She was apprehensive to take up this role, considering herself too similar to her father to be a good parent, and it became one of the main reasons why she was against having a child initially. However, as a true Ravenclaw, she learned. Even before Atlas was born, Melody often dealt with children and thus gained experience. She realized the mistakes her father had made as a parent and did her best not to repeat them. Melody wasn't a perfect mother, of course, but she did raise a kind and smart son who loved, trusted and respected her.

A Cozy Corner

For this story for hphm girls week 2026 by @hphm-fandom-events focuses on the sisterly bond of Melody and Lottie Midway when the former is a third year and the latter is a first year. After a nasty encounter with a boggart, rather than going on their originally scheduled walk, Melody decides to find a cozy corner for her and her sister to be in together

Lottie Midway’s POV, December 1986

Lottie stopped shivering shortly after she and Melody entered the class and even more so when they reached the kitchens. The warmth from the kitchen ovens radiated around the space and almost let her forget that boggarts kept lurking around each corner ready to strike at a moment’s notice. Lottie tried to keep that pushed to the back of her mind though as she followed Melody into the kitchens. Her sister was right after all, something sweet and a cozy corner was just what she needed after the coldness that she felt in more ways than one in the courtyard.

Melody was a presence Lottie knew she could always trust. Even when they were smaller, Melody was the person who would help her or Louis when they needed help with something or someone to lean on. In a way, it felt like nothing could break her determination. Her sister did not even think twice when she stepped in between her and the boggart. And Lottie hoped that one day she would also be as brave and fearless as her. After all, if Hogwarts was going to be a place of secrets and mysteries, she would need that energy to thrive.

It seemed like they were not the only ones in the kitchens with the exception of the house elves who were working to prepare the next meal for the denizens of Hogwarts. Lottie assumed it was someone who was serving detention since the kitchens seemed to be a rather common assignment. She eyed the girl curiously, she seemed a little older, likely around Melody’s age if Lottie had to guess. She had her red hair pulled back into a low ponytail in order to keep it out of her face and her dark eyes intently examined one of the ovens. Ultimately, whatever she had been waiting for seemed to have come and she brought out a tray of freshly made treacle tarts.

“Hello Tulip.” Melody greeted the other girl with an amused smile, “I see you found yourself in detention.”

Tulip shrugged but did not feign innocence, “I only jinxed Merula since she was being a nuisance. A rather spectacular prank if I do say so myself.”

“Snyde likely deserved it.” Melody replied without a second thought, “What did you do?” She added.

“The sea urchin jinx.” Tulip said extremely casually, “I must admit those spikes matched her eyes quite well.”

Melody chuckled, “That’s brilliant.”

“Thank you.” Tulip gave a quick bow, still quite proud with herself, “What brings you and your sister here? I doubt you two are here for detention.”

“Not yet at least.” Melody chuckled as she gazed around the kitchen, “Just came looking for something sweet.”

Tulip’s face brightened at that as she grabbed to treacle tarts and place them on a plate without needing to be asked. “Take these, they won’t be missed.”

“Thank you.” Melody smiled before turning back to her sister, “Come on, I know just the place.”

Lottie nodded at her sister and then turned to Tulip and gave her a grateful smile before quickly following Melody’s lead. Even as they walked away from the kitchens, Lottie could still smell the sweets, with the treacle tarts being a small piece of that for them to experience away from those mystical kitchens.

Even though Lottie acknowledge the dark corridors of Hogwarts could have a boggart around any corner, she almost forgot about them. Melody moved about the castle as if she had mastered the layout as well as a professor or even a seventh year. Lottie supposed that last year where she was facing the ice vault likely played some sort of part to that. Yet Lottie cherished it more than anything since it taught her about intriguing locations around the castle. In this case, Melody led her up a staircase that Lottie was convinced she had never noticed before.

“Where are we going?” Lottie asked curiously.

“You’ll see.” Melody smiled over her shoulder.

It didn’t take long after they reached the top of the staircase for them to find the cozy corner Melody had promised. It was more so a window with a modest bench but the view made it all the better. Lottie’s eyes were glued to glass as she gazed outside. It reminded her of the views she would get in the Gryffindor common room and how she could see the grounds of the school and the lands beyond it.

“It’s such a beautiful view.” Lottie admired the view as she took a seat on the bench.

“Well you know what people say.” Melody told her as she took a seat next to her. “Problems suddenly become small and insignificant once you look at them from such a height.”

“You are right again” Lottie acknowledged with a smile as she took one of the treacle tarts from Melody.

The tart was still warm to the touch and completely appetizing in smell and sight. Without worrying about the fear within the walls, she gently closed her eyes to take a bite and savor the taste. The boggart she had faced in the courtyard had nearly faded completely from her memory, yet only nearly.

The thought that her dear father would turn on her with cold eyes had shook her to her core. She had admired him growing up and had clung to him as a kid. Her mother had even told stories about how she threw tantrums while they were in France and he remained in England. Yet when the boggart changed to their brother when Melody blocked Lottie from it, her sister seemed unfazed and fearless when she cast the boggart banish charm. Apparently fear was not going to stop her sister in her quest.

Lottie turned to her, her black curls shifting ever so slightly, “Mel?”

“Yes?” Her sister responded.

Lottie desperately tried to suppress her own fear of the boggart “Were you scared?” She paused before adding, “of the boggart? Of those rumors about Jackie being true?”

For what felt like an eternity, her sister didn’t respond. She instead simply gazed out at the school grounds below them as she contemplated. The silence puzzled Lottie, after all, surely her sister was more sure of herself with how she seemingly hardly hesitated when it came to stepping in between her and the Boggart.

“Yes.” Melody confessed, “But I wasn’t going to let that stop me.” She then turned to Lottie, “You should never deny your fears, but you should not let them stop you either.”

Lottie briefly turned away, “It’s just… you didn’t hesitate.”

“You didn’t know the boggart banishing charm.” Melody pointed out, “I did, so I only did what was right for us both.”

“I should have known the charm.” Lottie interpreted, “Shouldn’t I have.”

“Nonsense, you’re a first year, and even if you weren’t, our Defense Aganst the Dark Arts professor this year isn’t effective with teaching like the past two I’ve had.” Melody revealed, “Me and some of my classmates had to actually go out of our way to make sure we knew how cast the charm after a boggart attacked during herbology class.” She then turned to Melody and Lottie simultaneously turned to her, “It wouldn’t hurt to know the charm though with the boggarts flooding the castle. I’d be happy to teach you.”

Lottie’s eyes widened with gratitude, “You would.”

“Of course.” Melody assured her as she playfully punched her sister in the arm, “That is what older sister’s do.”

Consider this the real last HPHM content I make before continuing with my break. A Secret Santa was hosted in the HPHM Amino, and we have one last participant who has yet to share their work. And I felt absolutely bad about the person not receiving their gift yet, so I made a quick character edit of their MC!
