#mmmay18 day 31, last day. Thoughts... I managed to wear me made every day, until I went away on a last minute weekend, but other than that. I wore a lot of dresses and skirts, an odd blouse/ top. All of which I knew. What I enjoyed: looking at everyone else's me mades and getting lots of inspiration. What I didn't: trying to get decent pictures everyday. But I do love to make clothes and see what everyone else makes. I recently started working on a pants pattern and here’s my first draft. (Btw, these were totally unplanned. I just needed more narrow pants in my wardrobe.) I really love them! Except for a few fit issues, the first pair turned out pretty good. I’ve been wearing them a lot since I made them last week. The fabric I used is a heavier cotton canvas so it took a few wears to loosen them up. But now they are much more comfortable. I really like the look of the side pockets (I also sewed patch pockets on the rear). They remind me of pants from the 1960’s, which is one of my favorite eras for vintage clothing. I feel like I need to be on a ranch or something while wearing these! ~ I also made the shirt I’m wearing, but it was a total pain to sew! The fabric is super soft, but both my serger and my sewing machine hated it! I think rib knits like this are just harder to sew than jersey. #mmmay18 Day 25: Yes, it was a bit warm for a cardigan today but I wore it to protect my shoulders from the 🌞 while outside. The cotton material and 3/4 sleeves make it not too bad of an extra layer in warm weather. The dress is handmade as well but not by me. #mmmay18 Day 24: Today was the day for feeling like crap but hopefully the antibiotics I got this afternoon will have me on the mend quickly. I wore a #memade Baby french terry maxi skirt, that I made quickly this morning. It seemed like the best option for comfort. I was not up to rummaging in the attic to see if I could find one of my rtw ones, that might of not fit anyways. I don't know why I never thought to try using that fabric type to make a maxi skirt. #mmmay18 Day 20. Sewing in the garden.
